This is a GREAT school. We are in our second year at Norcrest. I have nothing but positive things to say about this school. My child is excelling here. I can not figure out for the life of me why this school is rated a "4". Shame on you greatschools.com. Norcrest is BY FAR the BEST public elementary in the area. Do a little more research.
First year at Norcrest and first week of school from what I have seen its a great school. Everything seems so controlled and safety seems to the #1priority!! So glad we made the switch from a private school. So far so good...
I absolutely love Norcrest & so does my daughter, who is in first grade there. She attended Wilton Manors Elementary for Kindergarten. Her reading has improved 100% as well as her math & science. She is much more well behaved since she actually likes her school & her teacher is outstanding. The parent involvement in this school, compared to others, is outstanding. I have nothing but great things to say about Norcrest!
This school is OK. The new principal Mr. LeFevre isnt so great. I think he is just taking it easy until he retires. The school is better than most the ones in the pompano area but kids are always coming and going. I dont thk the staff really cares about their job, I know it depends on the teacher but I think they are few in between in this school. I think the lighthouse point moms like to think that this school is so great because they dont have a choice but really its not so great
I am very happy with NORCREST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. My daughter attended this school from Kindergarten and this is her last year; she will begin 5th Grade in a few days. The principal is wonderful. The teachers are all very nice and mostly all of them do an excellent job with the children, they are extremely qualified and very caring. They all work together to make sure they are improving year after year. After all the remodeling this school is absolutely beautiful and the classrooms have state of the art technology and computers to help the children learn. We will miss Norcrest Elementary when our daughter graduates, therefore we wish to thank the staff and all the teachers for a great job done.. Sincerely, Ms. Santoni
Norcrest is such a great school! The teachers are always friendly and helpful. The students are great there. The building is clean and nice.
I am a parent of 3 Norcrest children and am looking forward to a new school year (2 weeks from now). The Principle and office staff are wonderful! The teachers are outstanding (ms. Martin, ms. Dorbin, and ms. Delfaveroe are A+ all the way)! If you can get your child into Norcrest, I highly recomend it!
great teachers...great atmosphere.great after care teachers take a lot of time with the students and have compassion for what they do as teachers.. staff is also very supportive
My son is in Kindergarten, but this is his 3rd year at Norcrest. He started in the PLACE Program for a delay in speech. The program exceeded my expectations. He was then placed into the Intergrated Pre-K class and again wonderful results. He is now in a regular class and I am happy with his academic achievements. Their after-care program is wonderful and so far his teachers have had an open communication policy with me when ever I had concerns. About my son and I worked well with them. The school has a great 'No Bullying Policy' and is a Drug-Free school. I am never worried about my child leaving the school grounds without authorization and feel comfortable that he is safe until he is picked up.
I like many of these reviews, had my children in a private school. I felt that they were falling behind how ever I was helpless living in an area that do to 'zoning' laws which put us in a horrible public school. Private school was our only answer at the time. Since then we just happened to move into the Norcrest school area. I was delighted with what I found. My Kindergartner and second grader are both coming along well now. They both struggled at first due to the habits they were thought in a non-public school. My second grader is in need of E.S.E's and got the attention and testing in one year that I asked for and did not receive in the private school for two years. Thank you Norcrest and keep up the good work! On a very resent note... Thank you to Mrs. Ray, staff and facility for always safely releasing our children to us in a weather event. It is a little bit of a wait however what price can you put on bringing your child home safely?
Awesome! Tried private school and was not impressed. I am very happy with the quality of my child's enviroment there. He is happy and that is most important.
Wonderful school and great teachers! Norcrest has adopted a uniform look dress code starting in August 2007. Also, they are renovating. Norcrest is the best! Go Tigers!!
My children all attended a local private school. I had heard excellent things about Norcrest and was not happy with the private school so I gave it a try. It was the best thing I had ever done for my children. Academically, my children have excelled after having to be tutored from not learning what they needed to learn at the private school. They have had excellent teachers who really cared about how well they were doing and worked with them really hard for the FCAT. Through the extra help, my children scored very high on the fcat which has gotten them into excellent middle school programs and then on to excellent high school programs. Norcrest is the best start you can give to your children. Excellent teachers, excellent safe environment, excellent family involvement! The best thing is an excellent education at no cost!
My two children having been attending this school for a quite a few years. They have both done extremely well. The faculty take the time to really make sure the student understands what is being taught. It's small and everybody knows everybody, it's a very tight family. I would recommend this school to anyone!
This is a very good school. I am happy with the curriculum in my sons class. One of the schools big concerns is making sure the students are safe and accounted for at all times.
Academics is priority at norcrest, teacher team is motivated and well prepared, parent involvement is high. It needs a little push on the extracurricular activities and the gifted program. I've heard that esol program is good. Some teachesr are plain outstanding (ms. Park, ms. Narcise) most of them are very good.
A good place to start for children, a nice pace of academic work, and a great amount of extra curriculars. Parent involvement could be higher but it is a good environment to start in without a doubt.
I think the school is great. Never heard anything bad and the teachers and principals are right on top of the students. That makes me more confident knowing that my child is in the best care. I let everyone know how great you people really are. Keep up the good work im happy very much happy.
