FANTASTIC. I just entered my two children there. They are in Kindergarten and Third grade. Each grade level works together. The number of children in each class is well below twenty! I am allowed to visit and help out in the classroom. That really is a bonus. The PTA puts together a lot of fun events for the kids. I am a single mom and am very happy to be here. They have an after-school program right on campus, so it's easy to pick them up when I can. Thanks Pompano Beach Elementary!!!

Wow, what a great school. My husband and I are very happy with our choice. The teachers are terrific. The administration helps out any way they can. Our boy was a 'C' student at another school in Palm Beach and now he has been on the 'A' honor roll three times. Noticable teachers: Mrs. Bencie, Mrs. Siler, Mrs. Barton, Dr. Schulte, Mrs. Bernota, Mr. Walker. Thanks Pompano Beach Elementary!!!

I think the school is great. The new principal is really on top of things and is doing a really good job. The office staff is nice and always helpful. Mrs. Malisi and Mrs. McMann are wonderful and know what they are doing. Glad the school is a 'A'.

I have 2 children who attend this school. I have been very pleased with their education that they have received so far. I am very happy with the teachers my children have had. The # of studens in a classroom has been small, The school offers ample opportunites for both student as well as parent involvement. The problem I've noticed is that it's the parents who don't seem to want to get involved. The school can only do so much, it's up to us as parents to take an active role in getting involved and helping change the areas of concern or areas that need to be corrected.

Great School! I would recommend this school to anyone. We pulled our kids from the local Catholic school...to many kids in a class. The Kindergarten class at pompano only had 15 kids! What a delight!

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! I have my child in the school now. The school is clean, well maintained, and upbeat. There are many smiles at that school...that says a lot. My child was challenged and respected for the individual that she is. You don't find that everywhere. The school and the PTA offers fun activities for the families as well. We are at Pompano Elementary instead of the local private schools...we are very happy there!

I can say that the comment about the preschool has absolutely nothing to do with Pompano Beach Elementary School. This comment is not reflected of the elementary school. I know that the elementary school has an excellent staff. Every school has teachers that need to improve, but PBES has the most dedicated and loving staff. They care about the children and make it their priority to meet the student's needs. Yes, it has its areas to improve..who doesn't but it is by far the best school in Pompano and in the NE section of Broward County.

This rating is for the preschool. My son attended last year. Some teachers (Miss Sam, Miss Laura) are excellent. But other teachers are awful. The principal is the worst I've ever seen. Theprincipal has trouble finding teachers willing to work there, so she overlooks their shorcomings.

The school is located in a very safe community, everyone try to do their best to achieve success, however school still on the B's classification and I think this is due to some of the teachers or maybe there class ratio is to high that they don't have a chance to dedicate time to every single one of their students, for instance my teacher's child never informed me that there was an academic problem, never even request a parent conference just about couple of months ago I find out that my child may not qualify to be promoted into the next grade, hire a private tutor and my child is doing wonderful to the point that it will be promoted to next grade. Thank God that I found out this just on time to do something about it on my own, but what about families who cannot afford tutors?

This school has some very good teachers and some that are VERY bad. I won't name names here. The school needs to be cleaned and doors fixed, but overall not a bad choice.

The teachers and staff at Pompano Beach Elementary are of the highest caliber. Regardless of the diversity and ecomomic status of the children enrolled, all children are treated fairly and equally. In dealing with my child's teachers, they are extrememly hard working, go above and beyond what would normally be expected, give whatever extra time they have to work with my child and are always available whenever a connference or a meeting is deemed necessary. I have been to several other schools in the area, and this school really has risen the highest of standards when it comes to faculty and staff!

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
