Creekside Middle School

It was disappointing to witness very inappropriate and unethical behavior by one of the Creekside middle school reading teacher. Being a parent I expect teachers to be professional 24/7 and set a great role model for our children. Instead, her actions called in question about her abilities to educate young children.

It sounds good... but the reports sound bad... :( im about to move to port orange and go to this school creekside middle school. i am not sure if i should believe the reports? im not really sure. i will be going into 6th grade! i hope it is great! i want a awsome report card... please let me know if this school is great! ty!

This school isn't as great as it's know to be. Silver Sands is much better to my opinion. I had C's and D's there and I've always had A's and B's, I switched to Silver Sands and now I have all A's and one B again. Just because Silver Sands has some bad kids doesn't mean the whole school is, and also most of the IB students at Creek are from Silver Sands. Spruce Creek has a few bad kids, does that make them the worst? No, they are the best. All schools have bad kids so don't target Silver Sands. Some teachers at Creekside were awesome others okay. When i was attending creekside they tend to the rich only and let them pass with many things, at Silver Sands they tend to all students. So don't bring down Silver Sands please and thank you.

We just moved here from the Northeast, Although this school offers good programs in Dance, chorus, Band, it has cut the Reqading Enrichment program. The Math curriculum in below grade leve, my daughter learned what she was taught in grades 4-5 in Maryland. Some teachers are dedicated, however, others need to retire or update there teaching methods. It was a real didisappointmnet compared to our home statre- I suppose for Florida, it is a better school, unfortunatel, they rank low in the nation.

I think this is a great middle school...I come from NY and one of my biggest concerns moving to Florida was the schools. I am extremely pleased with the Port Orange schools, especially Creekside Middle. My son is finishing up 7th grade and he has had a great experience here. My experience with the principal has been a very positive one as well.

I would have rated this school slightly above average last year with the previous principal. The new principal leaves a lot to be desired. It is extremely difficult to communicate with the teachers. The only info I receive is midterms and report cards. Fortunately my son is a good student. I would highly recommend band. It has been a great experience.

This school is absolutely discusting.The teachers and staff are horrible and the students are violent.My daughter comes home and cries every day because she has too much work and her teachers are unfair.I would not recommend this school.

I now go to a different middle school. But I must say that Creekside was my favorite it was a lot more fun and the teachers taught better. It is a lot cleaner. Plus it has better food, and teachers. It was the best school ever, no school could out do Creekside. =]

My daughter is now in her second year at Creekside Middle School. She is a struggling student, and with the class sizes being so large, I feel that it has been very difficult for her to receive a more individualized instuction. Both last year and this year she has only had a couple of teachers who seem willing to work her.

Florida schools are often deficient in extracurricular areas such as art, or sports. Creekside, however, is a very good middle school. The teaching staff , counselors, and principals are caring as well as competent. The fact that it's relatively new and clean is a plus. The workload is challenging but not overwhelming. There really are very few negatives.

Creekside is a fantastic school! My son is in his third and final year there and we consider his education at Creekside the best around. The teachers are wonderful, the curriculum is well-rounded and thorough. Their Gifted Program is top-quality, and their Gifted Program teachers do a wonderful job of keeping the students focused and interested in their work. Extracurricular activities abound at Creekside, and are highly encouraged by the teachers and staff. Their PTSA is top-notch, and they do a great job of coordinating fundraising activities in support of many PTSA-sponsored events and much-needed school equipment and supplies that otherwise aren't included in the school budget. The school's principal, Ms. Drawdy, is well-liked and respected by parents and students, as well as her staff. She does a great job for Creekside! I highly recommend Creekside Middle School!

We have 2 children that have attended Creekside Middle School. A senior, who has recently been accepted to all the colleges that he applied to and a 7th grader. We feel that Creekside helps prepare them to succeed in High School.

This school is absolutly wonderful! I interned with Mr. Ingoldsby and his students. He is a brillant teacher and has great students. The staff is warm and welcoming as well as helpful in everyway possible. The campus is beautiful and very well kept. Creekside's students really seem to love their school and their teachers. The principal is caring and outstanding! I couldn't say one bad thing about this school!

Met with the new principle on the first day of school 04/05 and was very impressed- the school is very big and seems impersonal but when you do finally get ahold of the right person (in my case Ms. Drawdy) they are quick to take action. They appear to be headed in the right direction with the new leadership, away from the pompous and self-serving direction of the past 2 years-- will update as necessary.

This school has never impressed me. It is placed in the middle of one of the most financially secure areas of Port Orange, and has spent it's entire 3 years of existence talking about how wonderful it is, and yet not taking care of issues brought up by concerned parents. Child security, teachers who dress and act irreresponsibly, and a general staff attitude of superiority (and 'how dare you' state their school is anything but perfect). I am very dissatisfied with this school overall.
