INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My daughter began attending Palm Pointe in the first grade. She has had some problems with reading. She is now in the 8th grade and her reading has improved tremendously due to the diligence of her teachers. Schools and teachers are not perfect but I must say that every staff member we have encountered has always shown a sincere interest in my daughter's success in everything she does. Education is what the student makes of it and at Palm Pointe they encourage each student to do their very best at everything they do. Not all children learn in the same way and my experience at Palm Pointe has been that the teachers help the children in different ways until something clicks. Every child is a "Rocket" souring towards the stars in whatever they do.

This school is a revolving door as teachers and staff do not stay. Every year, even in the middle of the year staff members leave. In the past 2-3 years, guidance department has had 3 or 4 new counselors (a very nice one resigned in the middle of the year), one of the deans resigned or fired in the middle of the year. Based on what I've observed, the school PRINCIPAL, Debra Snyder is to be blamed. She is not friendly at all towards her staff and couldn't careless about their feelings. On one occasion, I was there for a parent conference, I personally observed her literally screaming at one of the deans there demanding her to do something. That was very embarrassing and awkward. Another occasion, I witnessed her scolding the guidance counselor in front of parents in the cafeteria during open school. She rubs off on some of the teachers because some of them are EXTREMELY mean to new teachers (special 6th grade) and bully others. On a good note, the front office ladies are always welcoming, most of the teachers I have dealt with act very professional, and are genuinely concerned about their students' academic success. It's too bad they don't stay their long enough.

My oldest son has been attending this school since it opened, and I have nothing but great things to say about it. We have considering moving many times over the years due to work, but I can't not bring myself to remove my children from the wonderful education that they are receiving at this school.

The school is OK educationally, but the staff is not very friendly. We've been to a lot of schools and I would say the office staff is the least friendly of any school I have seen. The teachers so far have not been friendly either, and I have only seen the Principle a handful of times. She does not seem very involved with the children like principles at other schools. I hope this year will be better.

They teach good there, but I don't like it at all. We can only wear like 4 colors .. we even have to have certain colored socks. & our jackets cant have anything on them bigger than your hand. Like no writing going across it. & the teachers are extremelly mean. It's to strict there. I understand your going there for your education but still ..

I have been a student here for 4 years. I am in the sixth grade and my name is Michael. When palm pointe opened in 2008, i was kinda anxious about what was going to come my way but it turned out to be great school! I like the principle a lot! the two deans are very strict. The dress code is ok but it sucks that we can only wear 4 colors. Thats one thing i would change. The teachers are awesome and are so determined to teach us what we need to know for the FCAT. About 9/10 teachers care about our education. the students are nice but the 8th graders need to be controlled. Above all, palm pointe is the best school i have attended!

why are all these great reviews within a 3 week time period, beteween Oct 2009 - Nov 2009? suspect. I am not giving a rating one way or another, hence the 3 stars, but looks like the work of staff and administration to me. If it is truly a great school you wouldnt have to go online to make results skew in your favor. 57 reviewsand all 5 stars? really?

My daughter attended K at Palm Pointe for 2010-11 school year. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. We are heartbroken to be moving away and not continuing on at what we feel is one of the best schools in the entire state. Ms. Clancy was phenominal and we know gave our daughter the best start to her school career that we ever could have hoped for.

I cannot say enough about this school. The teachers and administrative staff are genuinely concerned about my children's education. I have a 13 year old child with autism and for the first time in her school years she has been included with general education students. My 11 year old child looks forward to going to school each day. Before attending this school it was a struggle every morning to get him ready for school. This school is the best. Go Rockets!

Great School. The real name is Palm Pointe. My step-son attends this school and he has no complaints. The school's principle always sends recorded messages to our home phone every week to remind us of any upcoming events or important things that happen in the school. Very impressive.

The teachers and staff are WONDERFUL! They care about their students as well as the student's family and do a great job of making each child feel important and motivate them to do their best! :)

I love all the teachers and staff. The teaching process is amazing. My daughter was in kindergarten last year and entered the school 13 weeks late, as I home schooled her until she was accepted here. She was so behind and I was very concerned but the dedication and patience that her teacher demonstrated was amazing. She is now in first grade reading and excelling wonderfully. I Honestly believe it was her teachers dedication that helped her succeed. Principal Snyder is amazing with all of the kids as well. She is very involved and just truly caring towards all of the students.

This is my son's first year in grade school. He started kindergarten and I could not be more please with this school as and entire entity. His teacher is amazing. The principal is incredible. There is such a sense of family and teamwork there that it is almost palpable. I love that the students wear uniforms so that more is focused on education instead of fashion. Teachers work very closely with parent's to ensure that each child is getting the best education possible. It is an amzing place!

The teachers are very involved with the students and the administration is very responsive to the parents. I am very pleased with the curriculum and how much the students are learning. They help the parents by hosting parenting seminars, curriculum night, math night, etc. Guidance counselors help the students determine how they learn best and help them develop good study habits. I volunteer at the school, and the students I am in contact with are very enthusiastic and motivated. Thank you Ms. Snyder and your dedicated staff.

My son just started kindergarden in this school. I am so far very impressed with the organization of this school. Also the communication with his teacher is fantastic and she is always available to reply to my emails. The school appearance is excellent and the students all behave very well from what I can see during my lunch visits. My son is very motivated. The classroom is so full of resources, each classroom has its own computers. I am very pleased with the school so far this year and so is my son.

The school has been a great experience for my daughter in 7th grade. This was her 1st year in the public school system. She had attended a private christian school since she was three. Being a straight A student we wanted her to be more challenged and not bored in school . We gave the school a try since it was new and adjoined with FAU. It was very challenging academically which we had hoped for. The teachers & staff for it being a new school really had it together from day one. No matter where you go you will always have a teacher or two you may not be 100% pleased with along with some troubled kids due to bad parenting. Overall its an excellent school and she will attend 8th grade. She is looking forward to it. I just wish they had a High School.

The school is very nice, brand new this year. Unfortunately since it is a K-8 they have the younger kids mixed in with the older students and I am not fond of that practice. My daughter has a fabulous teacher and is learning so much. Administration, for the most part are ok, but do leave some things to be desired. Kids that have constant discipline problems, such as hitting other students, are left to do it again and again. There is a reward program in place for those that misbehave, not sure that it is working too well. Overall, we are very pleased with the academic side of the school and thank the wonderful teachers that make that happen!
