Port St joe highschool is an AMAZING school. the people are the best, most caring people you could ever meet, the teachers are excellent, the education is amazing, just steer clear of drama, fights are known to happen.
Port St. Joe is an excellent school. I have been a student here for three years now and I have no regrets whatsoever about moving. Not only is there an excellent, caring staff, but also many activities including sports, band, tutoring and plenty of other things. They have also recenly provided an arts academy for students who would like to extend their education in certain programs. This school is known for its small size but that is one of the many reasons it's hard to leave. You learn that everyone is your friend and everyone will give you a chance no matter where you're from.
This is an absolutley horrible school. Littered with un-educated teachers, and horrible leadership qualities. Stay clear of this high school.
All & all, this is a great school. The staff seem to geniunely care about the well-being of the students, not just their academic scores. Most programs seem to do OK, but this year the school's grade was a low one. I do not know about art opportunities, but there is music (which I would say is so-so) and plenty of other extra activities including sports. Sports is high priority which I have mixed feelings about but does help some kids to go to college that might otherwise have a hard time going. I feel there is room for improvement in the actual building and grounds. It needs remodeling and updating desperately. Overall, I would send my child here again though.
Port St. Joe High School is a very attentive public school. If you've just moved to the area or are thinking about it, then this is the school for your student. I recently left Port St. Joe July Fourth, 2004. I moved to Biloxi, MS and I miss the heart warming staff at Port St. Joe High. I've attended school in Port St. Joe for 7 years, I'm a Junior now and I know myself there is no better school than PSJ High. The students here are the best. All the students are friends.
