This is the 4th year at this school for my oldest child and 3rd year for my middle child. I recommend this school to everyone when asked. My oldest child started there in Kindergarten and it was the 2nd year the school was open. I have NEVER had a problem with this school or teachers ever. They had more students when she first went there and yes has had a decrease of students which is no picking up once again. Just like with any smaller school there are politics and drama with parents and staff that will leave when the other leaves. Part of society and people will come and go. Unfortunately yes some good teachers have left but not always for the reason of the place but for their own benefits. We left and went to another county in North FL for 2 years and they went to public schools and let me tell you I had incidence with staff ona couple of occasions and you were not a name but a number. I can say at Imagine I have never felt that way. They know me and remember me cause I am a constant presence in my kids education. You are required to volunteer so many hours to give back to the school and if and when you do it, you then get know staff and see what is going on. I have never seen the staff rude to kids and for some who say they have seen it, kids need firm direction sometimes and some kids don't listen or a constant disruption so think about it. No one is perfect and when you have 20 kids at a time they will try your patience at a point after repeated times of direction. Teachers don't make that much money on top of it so they do it cause they love the job apparently cause no one would endure it for that amount of money. As far as middle schoolers behavior, look at the age of them. If you think that doesn't happen anywhere else you are crazy cause it did when i was that age over 25 years ago. They get by with it cause PARENTS complain about discipline. No more paddling, etc... Which made you think twice before misbehaving. As far as front office being rude, 1) everyone has a bad day including you, 2) they have chaos going on in thereat certain times of day so the tea and cookies hand fed to you isn't happening at the time. Also maybe take a look at how you maybe addressing them at that time too cause you get back what you put in. When you have a bunch of kids around you don't always have calm. Never seen kids without any teachers around at dismissal.

We are in year 5 at this school. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a small, community school. The administration is awesome and they truly cares for our children. My kids love the school and love the tight knit family feel to it. No school is perfect, but if you are looking for a school that respects you and your child, will listen to your concerns, continue to improve where needed, then Imagine NAU campus is the place for you.

Imagine Nau is a small family and education oriented public charter school. The teachers and administration care about each student as individuals. They are making so many improvements and have various ongoing programs that other schools in our district do not have. A STEaM program, a WeatherBug Station (right on our roof!!), both National Elementary & Junior Honor Societies, Student Council and more! I can't wait to see all the other improvements and additions Imagine and Nau have planned for the upcoming years!

My child had been attending imagine Nau for 3 years. This school has been wonderful to my child and my family. The new administration has really turned things around. The curriculum is strong, the students are having fun while learning, and they do amazing things in the community. My daughter has made the National Junior Honor Society and does volunteer work on weekends, studies nightly, and loves her teachers. The middle school teachers and administrator cares about the success of these kids and know each one individually, including their data, academic strengths and weaknesses. The people who complain about this school obviously do NOT know what is going on inside. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants their kid's education to be fun and meaningful.

this school is a joke. the kids are allowed to do what they want, when it is time for pickup the students and i mean of all ages are all running around in the parking lot, teachers are no where to be seen.there are some dangerous situations that the kids could get into here and no one cares at this school.the children are allowed to bring in electronics, what is that about. how are the children going to learn anything if the faculty isnt doing their jobs.Something needs to be done about this..

2014 is my daughter's third year at Imagine Nau. She has had outstanding teachers thought each year, and this year is also very good. The principal is fabulous, as well as the assistant principal. There has been a big improvement with parental involvement this year, but we need more. The PTO is outstanding, which is vital for any school's success! The moral of the entire faculty is very high! Over all, we truly believe that Imagine Nau is one of the best schools in St. Lucie County.

My daughter would come home crying because of the drama and bullying at this school. In 7th and 8th grade there is a lot of profanity used against the students and the teachers. I've heard other friends who have put their children in this school, always transfer back to a different school. The middle school assistant principle befriended the students and has no authority over the students and the students don't respect the teachers.

I am glad I made the switch to Imagine Nau. For the first time my children love to go to school. There are some challenges but I believe that the new administration are addressing those head on. As a parent I am looking forward to the new year.

Imagine Nau is a terrible school! Do not send your child here if you want them to get an education! They don't teach because there is so much disruption in the classrooms. Teachers can't discipline students because parents complain & then the teachers get in trouble. They don't have any accountability for students & parents. Students are allowed to yell at teachers & use profanity without any consequences. Students do not earn their grades. They can turn in assignments & homework late & still get an "A". If they get a failing grade on a test, classwork; then they can retake it until they pass. The Middle School is the worst in the area! The students are rude, disrespectful, and have an I don't care attitude. There is so much drama! They scream and yell at all the teachers and substitutes. The new assistant principal who oversees the Middle School is a joke. He has befriended all the students. They don't respect him and he has no authority over them. The front office staff is unprofessional! They talk about all the terrible parents they have. They bad mouth all the teachers and don't support them. When no one is looking they talk down to the students & are rude to them.

This school is getting better. Although, it has a way to go. Most of the staff truly care about the students no matter where the child ranks in academic percentile. However, there are a couple of staff members that still give the school a bad name. In addition, some of the students would benefit from more parent involvement. Sadly, they do not get this and are disruptive in class. What is worse the only time the parent gets involved is when their child is in trouble and they rush in with threats of lawsuit because their child is a little angel. I will say the principal and vice principal are starting to turn things around. So, I remain hopeful.

I tried to give this school a chance but after two years am pulling out my two children. Education is not a priority at this school money is. Teachers come and go. My son has had 8 new teachers so far this year. Principals come and go. I really tried but honestly I think a public school is much better in this area

I think NAU is very disappointing. The teachers are not trained on how to deal with certain children who may pose to be a little more difficult than others. They have singled out my child since day one and it has been nothing but harassment the entire school year. This one teacher in particular has no patience and consistently contacts us with excuses why she cant teach rather than resolutions on how to address the problem at hand.

The best place in St Lucie. I would not go anywhere else. The principals who left had cancer and other serious health issues and that has hurt the school's reputation. My kids love to go to school and get 4s and 5s on FCATs. They are honor roll and happy all the time. It's a smaller family atmosphere which is what I want for them. I give this school top ratings in every way. Period!

The principal was not fired, but resigned. However, I do understand why. There are few unethical people working within the school, in the regional office, and some of the parents that caused the resignation of the principal. Unfortunately, the principal put her faith in these unethical people. If she hadn't, I believe the school could have been turned around. It is a shame instead of focusing on the true issues of the school, everyone with an interest in the school is focusing on the rumors and lies. Until that changes, I cannot give a good review.

Don't come to this school, i'm a student and i'm in seventh grade now and i've been here for four and a half years, many students are leaving and lots of teachers have been fired. There has been so many principal turnovers that the first principal has not even been at the school for more than two months. By the countless principal turnovers, there has been a disorganized calender of events and scheduled tests. This not only confuses students, but teachers also. The teachers work night and day with countless changes in thr schedule. They fire and hired the same music teacher three times. Don't come here.

Nau Charter School is my dream come true! FINALLY, I have found a home where my three children learn well, build character, are safe, and excel academically, including on standardized tests. I have been to five schools and have left, miserable. The secret: THIS school hires great teachers, I have seen them when they didn't know a parent was there and they are ALWAYS firm but kind and caring to all of the children. The turnover referred to in another comment is because so many families sign up to attend Nau, they hire teachers, then the kids move away before school starts! It's a business, not the troubled SLCSD, so they have to cut teachers to make sure they stay in business. They lost two principals due to serious illness, personal and family, and that is not anyone's fault. Principal Mrs. Bailey is awesome! Re: the C grade, the other much larger (less personal, IMHO) charter school, Renaissance also has a C, they just were allowed to advertise a B due to a loophole in the grading system. The office staff is awesome, I have loved every NAU teacher; I am a teacher myself with an Education graduate degree and I choose the NAU SCHOOL HANDS DOWN!

The only thing that is correct about Imagine Schools Nau Campus is the word Imagine in its name, as you will need to Imagine your children getting a proper education while attending this school! Since this school has opened it has had four principals, countless teacher turnovers, teachers teaching out of field, not enough administrative staff, a receptionist or whoever else they can grab serving as a nurse, no gym just a dirt field with no protection from the sun, no structured PE, computers that are broken half the time as well as a decade old, volunteers doing things that teachers and administrative staff should be doing, low test scores as well as the overall rating of a "C" which they seem proud of maintaining. This is not a proper environment for your children to receive a proper education and learning experience. I was hopeful that things would change but after three years it hasn't and has only gotten worse. If you want the best for your children do not put them at this school hopefully you will not make the same mistake I did by Imagining this was a good school!

this school is a good school but at the same time a very bad school. I am a 8th grader and i have been here since it has opened and through the years this school has gone through 3 principals and countless teachers. when i was in 7th grade i was learning 6th grade work. now i know what you are thinking we all should be getting straight A's but not everyone understands the work because the teachers dont teach us. now i am not saying that this is a bad school but im not saying its the best school so i will let you decide if it is good or not.

My child has attended NAU since the begining, I have been blessed to have great cluster teachers that communicate with me. Yes there have been many changes and turnover but like any job you have to do what is best for you and your family. I can't judge others for what I myself have done when I decide to change jobs. To respond to the previous comment that unqualified people substitute at NAU is inaccurate. I substitute for the school and I have a college degree as well as being a certified substitute in St. Lucie County. These teachers are teaching and parenting about 54 kids a day (if not more) and the job doesn't end at 3:15pm like you think. REMEMBER WHEN YOU POINT AT SOMEONE ELSE YOU HAVE THREE FINGERS POINT BACK AT YOURSELF. In short my child is happy and excelling academically I couldn't ask for anything more!

My son has been at Imagine since it opened and have been very pleased!! He has excelled academically and socially. The school has a real family feel where they encourage you to come and volunteer even in your child's classroom. They are a new school and they are working on getting their library up and running but each classroom has a library, for the time being. The science teacher is GREAT! They do lots of hands-on activities. His teachers all meet when there are conferences and talk about the good things too!! We have been very pleased with Imagine NAU campus.

IMAGINE A BETTER SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD. THATS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO. THEY'VE HAD 4 PRICIPLES AND TEACHERS WILLINGLY QUIT FASTER THEN WAITRESSES TURN TABLES. THERE ARE "TEACHERS" TEACHING THAT ARE NOT CERTIFIED TO TEACH AND WHEN A TEACHER IS ABSENT A PARENT SUBS FOR THE DAY. P.E. IS IN A PARKING LOT/ DIRT, THE ART CLASS IS A JOKE AND THE NEW PRICINIPAL WHEN SHE IS THERE IS SO SPACY SHE DOESN'T CARE WHAT IS GOING ON. THERE ALSO IS NO LIBRARY AND FOR BEING A NEW SCHOOL THERE IS MOLD IN THE CEILING IN THE CAFETERIA WHERE YOUR CHID EATS.THEY ARE SHORT STAFFED AND THERE ARE BEYOND REGULAR GUIDELINES FOR THE AMT. OF CHILDREN IN A CLASS. WOULD YOU LIKE OT KNOW WHY SO MANY CHILDREN ARE ON THE HONOR ROLL? WELL BECAUSE FIRST OFF SCIENCE GRADES GET HANDED OUT ON HOW WELL THE TEACHER LIKES YOUR CHILD SINCE THERE IS NO SCIENCE BEING TAUGHT AND FOR THE REST OF THE CLASSES QUIZ YOUR CHILD ON WHAT THEY ARE LEARNING? WHOS TEACHING THEM THE PARENTS ARE BECAUSE THESE "TEACHERS" HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THERE DOING. I GAURENTEE IF YOU SENT THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE YOUR CHILD WOULD BE BEHIND THIS IS WHY THERE A "D SCHOOL" BC WHEN IT COMES TO REAL TEASTING OUR CHILDREN HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON.. IMAGINE THAT

My children have been attending this school since day one. Both my husband and I are blessed with the teachers they have had and currently have. There have been changes but we see them for the good and with any new school, as growing pains. If you're looking for the perfect school, good luck, it doesn't exist. What you will find at this school are loving teachers/staff members who love the students as if they were their own. Parents are welcomed, as the school has an open door policy. This school actually encourages family interaction...Imagine that! The teachers are dedicated and actually don't go home at the sound of the bell. Communication has gotten alot better since 2009 and their always open to suggestions. Our kids are happy and that's our main concern. I'm a happy parent and staff member since 2009!

This is our second year in Nau we are pleased with their teachers I think they are outstanding. I have no problems communicating with them at any time. I think the new principal should be her next "budget cut". The turnover on teachers has been very disturbing to the children especially her cutting one of the best teachers the school had. That was so clearly personal it screamed misconduct on her part. She has no contact with the students or parents her ice wall would take to long to get past. If you rid the school of her you would have a 5 star school . Review and correct her "budget cuts" and you would have the best school in the district. The children should not be punished by her being out of control someone should hold her accountable. Who grades the principal? Whatever disarray is occuring at the school is all from her "budget cuts", the students and teachers are all waiting for the other shoe to drop. They need to drop her so everyone can take a breath and start to learn or teach.

My daughter is in first grade and in her 2nd year at Imagine Nau Charter School. I can not say enough good things about Nau. I have seen a tremendous amount of growth in just the short time she has attended there. She receives personalized attention from her all of her teachers and the staff is very friendly and truly looks out for my child's best interest. I love the small family environment this school provides. I highly recommend this school!

My son attends this school and I couldn't be happier about it. The attention he gets from the wonderful staff is everything that I could have hoped for and more. As for the changes--what school doesnt have growing pains? The teachers were let go for budget cuts NOT because the school authorities didn't like them! Support this school!!!!

I have been at his school sine it has begun, the teachers don't really have much respect of what other students do here. Many teachers are coming in and out of this school and drama between teachers go on and have distracted me. I've been on the A honor roll but closer to the end of the year, I began to loose it. We've been doing so much other work between drama in our class and the problem is, it doesn't have much to do with our education. Due to drama, we've been behind in almost all of our classes because teachers can't handle it and some have issues with temper. Kindergarten teachers too. I've seen the way some of the teachers act towards my brothers and they pick favorites on wheter your mother does alot of school work. I've been begging to leave this school, it's one that I would never want to one back to.

My daughter attended this school for a year and a half and we are extremely dissatisfied. Reason one would be the treatment she and her classmates received from her teachers and other staff. She was given "silent lunch", told to "shut up" and threatened with jail. Their disciplinary policies are unstructured and arbitrary. Their policy of punishing an entire class for one child's bad behavior is deplorable. Reason two would be the horrible communication with the teachers. It was impossible to reach them by phone and difficult at best to get a response to emails. Reason three would be that most of the extra programs (of which there were few) were geared for the younger kids (k-3). My daughters cheerleading coach decided to quit mid year yet the younger kids continued to have practice and participate in parades. Reason four is the questionable fundraising that goes on. No one could say where the money was going. PTO didn't help with field trips after making thousands of dollars. Reason five,no library! And lastly, we have to pick up the final report card. The school thinks its cheaper to pay a staff member than to buy stamps! Not to mention the cost of gas.

My children have been attending this school since 2009(the day it opened). Project Child (same teachers for the same three years)is the reason why they attended. The principal that opened the school left in mid year due to personal reasons(which was very disappointing). After the first year many teachers did not return(another disappointment). The school has had three principals since opening. Being a small school is not a plus, with that they lack resources and funding. St. Lucie county has many other schools as a option. I have my children on a waiting list for another school.

My son and daughter have been attending this school since it opened. My children are doing very well. My son is an honor student but has difficulties in math. His teacher has provided after school free tutoring for him and is always in touch with me. The teachers have provided quality education for my kids, are supportive and maintain an open communication. One needs to understand that this is a new school and when a problem arises we should be able to resolve them like adults not post a negative review to ruin the school's reputation.

HORRIBLE School! Teachers are VERY unprofessional. School is so unorganized, it's a nightmare. I don't even think they deserve the 1 star! I had a teacher pull my daughter out of her class and yell at her in front of her class for my daughter not attending an extra cirricular program. Another teacher allowed children to laugh at other kids if they were called on a gave the wrong answer. RUN FROM THIS SCHOOL! THIS SCHOOL HAS NO BUSINESS BEING OPEN!
