My daughter is in 2nd grade the office staff is nice the ESE dept is helpful and does a great job. I was worried about putting my child in this school after some of the reviews but she is happy and so am I. They even have after school activities for the kids. Great school and it is an A school as well.
I was very unimpressed with this school. My son was constantly bullies, (to the extreme), with racial slurs, and hateful names about sexual orientation. In 3rd grade! The teacher did NOTHING, even after repeated calls and visits to the school. No one ever disciplined any student that was tormenting my son, and they ignored my requests for a conference. There is NO control over the students. NO discipline of any kind. My son is very bright, and it is a good thing, because he was pretty much learning on his own. The staff is rude, as well as uncaring. Total disaster. I got my kid out of there...so disappointing.
Very undisciplined, many uruly teachers. Some were fine, many were not. No control or discipline.. lots of bad behaviors by students and teachers. Some Yelling, screaming, condescending and manhandling kids... I liked some of the teachers but not many.
Staff are rude. Mrs Fallon 3rd grader teacher at Bayshore, just give students the paper and no explanation nor directions. My child would come home not understanding anything. Really unorganized school. Thank god I switched him school. Carline does not make any sense. Assistant principal and nancy Mcmahon front desk rude to the extreme..... BAD BAD BAD school. children are throwing food at each other in the cafetaria and screaming to their lungs....it is a zoo there.
This school really needs to get their prioritys straight. Our kids are not being Supervised, and who do the teachers take it out on?? The parents(who are not there to watch the children) I know when my kids are in my care, they are supervised!
I am a teacher at Bayshore Elementary and I'm very proud to be a faculty member at this school. We have a great group of teachers who work together well to make sure that students learn every day. I am proud that we are an 'A' rated school by the state of Florida. The students come from very diverse backgrounds, but it is a wonderful challenge to watch them grow and progress. I have been at this school for 17 years and can't think of any other place I would rather work.
I love this school. Both of my children are so happy when they leave the house each morning to attend. Keep up the good work!
This school is great! It is one of only four schools in the district to make federal high expectation standards. All students are treated with respect and the staff is WONDERFUL!!!
School was clean, friendly, and very organized. Office staff very helpful and teachers were very friendly. My daughter was in 5th grade there and loved her class and the teacher.
I was not impressed at all with this school. My daughter was placed there for kindergarten and first grade. It was my last choice school for our zone. My daughter is bright but was never challenged. At the end of the year her 'science journal' had two entries in it!! I did some observation time for college in this school and I was very disappointed with what I saw 'behind the scenes'. Lots of teachers not getting along and a total lack of direction. My daughter and her little sister will be attending a different school next fall.
It's been a while since I'd stopped by this site, but I see that more parents are speaking out about the dissatisfaction with so many issues. I must say that Mrs. Carpenter was one of the few bright spots in that school. She's a brilliant and caring woman, who deserves every imaginable reward for holding the line against the apathy at Bayshore. Mary Mosley had no interest in helping out 'middler' kids (like my little boy) who weren't the biggest problems nor the best and the brightest, just kids who needed that something extra. The new principal seems conscientious and did work with my little boy more than Ms. Mosley had.
I can not stress enough how much we disliked this school. The classes were over crowded and the teacher was overwhelmed. The district claims that the classes are 1:18 ... my sons 1st grade class was 1:30. The children never had outside time which they need and as far as gym went they really never had one. We will not attend this school next year. I just hope the School Board actually does something about classroom size this year.
My 2nd grader has come to Bayshore from White City & I'm not impressed by the school @ all. She says she likes her teacher & classmates, that I am happy about. But not much else. Also the PPU needs better planning. Cars are coming from every direction. You have to stay alert while waiting in the god-awfully long lines just to watch out for other ppl not paying attention where they are going. So, I hope to see some improvements or I'll start driving that extra 20+/- miles a day taking her back to White City!
School is 30 years old and no remodeling has been done. Looks very unattractive from the outside. No fun playground for the little ones to play.
Thank you Mrs. Carpenter you made the differnce a Bayshore my daughter learned so much from you in these last three years. You wull be remembered. Teachers deserve more money the children are the future. Thank you.
Bayshore is a school where students come first. All students are seen as a student that can complete the work. Each child excells in the school, given opportunties to show their academic accomplishments. Teachers and staff are concerned about the student as a person first, and try to maintain a safe and inviting learning environment.
As a newcomer to florida I was concerned on the education level offered in Florida. My child enrolled as a 3rd grader, and I have been quite happy and impressed by the level of education offered. Most importantly the programs they have available for students who show to excell in certain subject. My child has excelled tremendously in Math which was one of her weaker subjects. Thanks to the faculty and diversity of programs offered this is no longer the case. Their constant demand for projects, reports have continuously helped my child evolve and excel. My only disappointment is that they do not offer a strong Art/Music classes which I find as equally important. Although Bayshore initially was my 4th choice, it has impressed me tremendously, they have prepared my child with the tools necessary to move forward
I really like bayshore and my daughter just loves it there. She will be going into first grade this year and she really has progressed so much.
