Great school. My student graduated last year. Really had a good four year experience. Had some really good teachers and counselors and now off to college.

Bartram Trail has great teachers that seem to actually care about your learning. Many teachers go out of their way to make sure you understand the material, having help sessions in the mornings before school or after. The students are friendly and there is a huge sense of community involvement when it comes to the school's sports. There are also many different options for courses to take. Bartram is well kept and I have enjoyed my experience as a student here!

The teachers are horrible. Many are rude and condescending. The sports programs are rigged and coaches pick favorites. DO NOT GO TO BARTRAM

So far, Bartram Trail High School has been awful. I'll be more specific: Apparently, the institution is so overworked and overcrowded, it's nearly impossible to get a counseling appointment just to register. In the meanwhile, as the clock ticks closer to the first day of school, you're left completely in the dark. Banned from attending orientation with no options to properly prepare your child, a half-hearted, last minute micro-orientation "might" be an option for those who are forced to wait to register. As a military family, we have enough ground under our feet to decipher good from not-so-ideal schools and there are red flags flying all over Bartram . The administration is curt and uncaring and it seems the principal struggles with effective planning strategies. I'll provide an update and amend the rating (if appropriate) once my student is actively attending... But it will be solely on the teachers and curriculum to turn this review around... Should be interesting since a review of the course catalog leaves MUCH to be desired.

The only thing this school has that means anything is it's football program. The teachers do not care about the students, the AFJROTC program is pathetic, and the school has a huge drug problem that no one is doing anything about.

Limited Programs: This district no longer has a gifted program K-12, and offers no gifted services in high school. FCAT scores and rankings trump children's individual learning needs. Families used to move to this district for their gifted program, but now gifted children's needs are disregarded K-12.

I started at bartram in ninth grade and i am currently in my senior year. I cam here after attending a Catholic grade school for ten years so I knew no one when i started. Students were very welcoming and I made friends in no time although sports helped with that. The teachers are well educated and the curriculum is challenging if you apply yourself and enter the more difficult of classes. The teachers are helpful and always give oppertunities to help students but the the front office and administration is less then desirable. They take a "help yourself" approach. all-in-all a great school!

The teachers are excellent, although the administration leaves a lot to be desired. Students and teachers alike are frustrated with the principal, yet continue to do their best to get a quality education.

BTHS continues to challenge my child to excell in all academic areas. School is enjoyable and a great place to learn. Teachers are passionate about the subjects they teach and try to pass their interest on to the students. Success is expected, it is just part of the culture of the school. It is a great place to go to high school.

Bartram in one word is like family. Our CR210 is a community that supports each other. The teachers, parents, students and community are all there for each other. Tough times usually make for bad times but not here...we are still getting things done by working together. And what speaks louder than words? ACTIONS! We are teaching our children what it means to be a community through our actions, not our words!

Bartram Trail High School is unique in the way that it helps it's students. Bartram gives you so many opportunities to succeed and become a better student. The classes are organized, the teachers are helpful, and sometimes even fun, haha. Bartram has an awesome sport program that lets students compete in what they love to do. Many will agree that Bartram Trail is a great school, but none the less it cant function with constant budget cuts and money loss. Hopefully something can be done soon, Go Bears!

We have two students at BTHS and have been in this school system for the past 8 years. I think it should be either an 8 or a 9. The school is better now that the student population has been reduced due to the opening of Creekside. It's easy to get lost in the shuffle, and guidance counselors do not do an adequate job with advising college-bound teens in particular. There have been some good teachers, and some who should not be teaching at all. The block scheduling can be a problem for some students who are shy about large classrooms (it's more like college lectures). Overall I would recommend the school but your kids will get into trouble if parents don't watch them. Sports is very big here, too.

I graduated from Bartram Trail in 2006, and could not have asked for a better high school experience. My teachers and coaches truly cared about my progress and were always availible for extra help if needed. I even still talk to some of my old teachers. The clubs and athletic programs are open to everyone and very organized and successful. The school was already a little crowded when I graduated, but now a new school has been built to ease the overcrowding issue. After heading off to college and hearing about other people's high school experiences (some involving violence, drugs, vandalism, etc. at school), I am left with nothing to complain about mine. I would love for my children to go to school there one day.

The school itself is fine. next year half the kids will be leaving so it wont be as crowded. As for the 9th grade 'academy', im not a fan. im sure the parents and teachers think its a great thing, but the students dont. the way for 9th graders to make a smooth transition into high school is not by making them feel even more outcasted by seperating them from the rest of the school. also, it looks like a middle school.

Both my children have gone through H.S. at Bartram, very disapointed with the quality of both teachers and programs offered, lack of information regarding PSAT and Sat, lack of information period, not keeping students informed, or parent informed on how to get them ready for college, lack of social clubs and interaction.

New at Bartram this year and what a GREAT school. If the worst thing you can say is the over crowding then count your blessings. The athletic department is ran very professional as the whole school. The teachers send you progress reports via email and I think that shows the teachers care about making sure the student and parents are on the same page. I would highly recommend this school to anybody who wants a good education for their child! A++++++ GO BARTRAM Keep up the good work faculty!

School too large, too crowded, feels like child is just a number here. The school needs more certified math teachers. For the most part, the teachers seem to care, and seem to be doing a good job. The 9th grade academy was a good transition to high school.

I am not very fond of Bartram Trail. The extracurricular activities were good, but there were just way to many people. It was to easy to be overlooked. And if you did not fit the mainstream you were out of luck. I don't believe it is an a rated school, so I will not be returning there for the rest of my high school education.

There are many great teachers at Bartram Trail, but the school is overcrowded. Our county commissioners have not been working with the school board, therefore huge numbers of housing permits have been issued. The infrastructure of our area should first be developed, then housing permits may follow. Our school board cannot keep up with the tremendous amount of growth the St Johns county commissioners have permitted.

Wide variety of courses and wide variety of teachers - little standardization within a subject across teachers - Guidance counselors are very difficult to consult. Electives are not electives just whatever is left over that will fit into your schedule whether or not you have taken it before or have any interest in the subject. The school is stretched too thin with alarming growth. Current focus is on adding AP classes not getting the students through them with decent levels of understanding or grade levels.
