My daughter went to Wilson Elementary for Kindergarten and her positive experience with her teachers and throughout the year will be a foundation for years to come . She loves school and the self confidence she developed there is priceless . We had to move to another city because of work ,but had we not ,she would definetely be still at Wilson . We both love this school!

My son attended Wilson for one year. I was very disappointed with the administration and their inability to properly assist kids with special needs (speech and language disabilities). I was told my son received speech therapy 3 times a week but was not able to meet with the speech therapist even once throughout the year to learn about his progress. At the end of the year, she asked to update his IEP with me over the phone in lieu of a meeting at the school which is how IEP meetings usually work. The guidance counselor is not much better. She takes a very long time to return phone calls to parents (if she returns it them all). If you need IEP related services, I would not recommend this school at all. In my experience, the staff at Crystal Lake Elementary is much better at addressing these.

Wilson Elementary is an awesome school in Central Florida. It has 900+ students with a mix of socio economics. The school is run by a firm but loving administration. The students all thrive in the warm environment.

Both my daughters attended Wilson and both have been A students, well-rounded, and given the type of teaching you would expect at a private school. Some of the teachers, like Mrs. James, are absolutely incredible. I would commute to Wilson to keep my child in her class!

Wilson Elementary is a wonderful school with very caring teachers. The principal has worked hard to make sure Wilson gets an A every year. The weak link is the really horrible after school program. With all the working parents in Seminole County, this school deserves to have an 'A' after school program too.

This school has great learning activities for the kids. My children's grades and reading levels increased dramatically once I switched them to Wilson. The teachers are very courteous and professional.

The school is top notch, but have seemed to fall short when it comes to the human factor. If you fit the mold then it is the school for you. They built this beautiful school with no heart or a soul.

Wilson is exceptional! We took our son out of private school when we moved from Orange County to Seminole and the education he gets at Wilson is even better than what he received at Private School. I was hesitant to move him into public schools but Seminole county schools are so exceptional I decided to give it a shot- I am happy to report it was a fabulous idea! Our son got tested and accepted into gifted and that program is great too! Mr L is a great leader and we have nothing but great things to say!

Wilson is a caring school with great acedemic programs and a high ratio of teachers with advanced degrees. A very structured school where children are treated like individuals and not a number. Counselors are available during school hours if you child should ever need it. Not school counselor but child psychologist. Wilson is a great school and my child was luck to attend

Academics seem to be top notch my kids have always scored high on standardized tests. Dont care much for the extracurricular activities. Art program basic have never had more than 5 pieces of artwork come home in 8 years between 2 kids. Music is o.K. Pe need to be more active, they sit around alot or watch movies when it rains. Parents can be involved if teachers allow which some do not.

The 'choices' program at seminole county separates neighbors and encourages a lack of community. Wilson elementary is the best of the choices and I am very happy with the school itself but think the 'choices' program only hurts rather than helps.

About the tests

In 2013-2014 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT 2.0) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, 3 through 8 in math, in grades 5 and 8 in science, and in grades 4, 8, and 10 in writing. The FCAT 2.0 is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Florida. The FCAT 2.0 has 5 achievement levels, with level 1 being the lowest and level 5 the highest. Florida considers scores of level 3 and higher to be on or above grade level. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
