If your child has Autism (High Functioning), this is not the school for him. My son attended Wilson for three years. My son fell through the cracks and this school failed him. I thought I was a patient parent with the hopes that the following years would be different. But no luck. I was very disappointed with the administration and their inability to properly assist kids with special needs. Sometimes my son was being seen and other times not. They didn't collect data about his progress. When you try to get assertive with the school, they bombard you with excuses of all the things the school was going through and other students were more important than my son's education.. As a parent, I've volunteered, gave countless amount of money to all their fundraising and abide by all their strict rules and regulations and still my son didn't get any support and still failed. He was being overlooked and pushed to the back burner. They strictly teach to the test and do not implement accommodations or be creative with their teachings in order for there students to catch up. At the end of the year, they asked to update his IEP with a document that I had to come in and sign, instead of a meeting at the school, which by the way is how IEP meetings usually work.

My daughter went to Wilson Elementary for Kindergarten and her positive experience with her teachers and throughout the year will be a foundation for years to come . She loves school and the self confidence she developed there is priceless . We had to move to another city because of work ,but had we not ,she would definetely be still at Wilson . We both love this school!

My son attended Wilson for one year. I was very disappointed with the administration and their inability to properly assist kids with special needs (speech and language disabilities). I was told my son received speech therapy 3 times a week but was not able to meet with the speech therapist even once throughout the year to learn about his progress. At the end of the year, she asked to update his IEP with me over the phone in lieu of a meeting at the school which is how IEP meetings usually work. The guidance counselor is not much better. She takes a very long time to return phone calls to parents (if she returns it them all). If you need IEP related services, I would not recommend this school at all. In my experience, the staff at Crystal Lake Elementary is much better at addressing these.

I love Wilson Elementary because the kids always feel welcome and cared for by the teachers and staff. The teachers really pull out the best in your child and it is always their goal to see every child succeed!

Wilson Elementary is an awesome school in Central Florida. It has 900+ students with a mix of socio economics. The school is run by a firm but loving administration. The students all thrive in the warm environment.

Both my daughters attended Wilson and both have been A students, well-rounded, and given the type of teaching you would expect at a private school. Some of the teachers, like Mrs. James, are absolutely incredible. I would commute to Wilson to keep my child in her class!

Wilson Elementary is a wonderful school with very caring teachers. The principal has worked hard to make sure Wilson gets an A every year. The weak link is the really horrible after school program. With all the working parents in Seminole County, this school deserves to have an 'A' after school program too.

This school has great learning activities for the kids. My children's grades and reading levels increased dramatically once I switched them to Wilson. The teachers are very courteous and professional.

The school is top notch, but have seemed to fall short when it comes to the human factor. If you fit the mold then it is the school for you. They built this beautiful school with no heart or a soul.

Wilson is exceptional! We took our son out of private school when we moved from Orange County to Seminole and the education he gets at Wilson is even better than what he received at Private School. I was hesitant to move him into public schools but Seminole county schools are so exceptional I decided to give it a shot- I am happy to report it was a fabulous idea! Our son got tested and accepted into gifted and that program is great too! Mr L is a great leader and we have nothing but great things to say!

Wilson is a caring school with great acedemic programs and a high ratio of teachers with advanced degrees. A very structured school where children are treated like individuals and not a number. Counselors are available during school hours if you child should ever need it. Not school counselor but child psychologist. Wilson is a great school and my child was luck to attend

Academics seem to be top notch my kids have always scored high on standardized tests. Dont care much for the extracurricular activities. Art program basic have never had more than 5 pieces of artwork come home in 8 years between 2 kids. Music is o.K. Pe need to be more active, they sit around alot or watch movies when it rains. Parents can be involved if teachers allow which some do not.

The 'choices' program at seminole county separates neighbors and encourages a lack of community. Wilson elementary is the best of the choices and I am very happy with the school itself but think the 'choices' program only hurts rather than helps.

I have found that if a child has special needs they are somewhat slothful in providing the testing and therapy required to make a child successful.

My oldest child attended Wilson and loved it! She is now attending Middle School and wishes she could go back! I presently have a kindergartener who loves it as well. I am PTA President for the first year and only joined PTA last year. It is fun, we only meet once a month (for lunch at the school), and it helps us to have a voice in what happens at Wilson. I strongly advise that you join the PTA at Wilson (or any school). Wilson is a great school for both parents and students. I hope that you enjoy your stay!

Wilson Elementary is outstanding in every respect. The teachers are totally dedicated and the curriculum is very challenging. I have 3 children who attend there, and they love it! Each night they all have homework (a good thing), and there are many projects and special events that are offered/held to enrich the curriculum. Oh - teachers work long hours and will basically meet with you at a time that is best for you. They really go out of their way to educate and inform. Without a doubt, Wilson is the best in Seminole County.

Every school has it's ups and downs, but over all Wilson is a great school. They have a great principal as well as have some teachers who go beyond their duty!

I believe that this school, put grants that they receive from the government before any of it's students. I read an article on the website stating that 'reduced price lunch and free lunch are considered to be proverty students, and that the reason why they don't excel in their studies is because of the lack of health and nutrition at home'. The school was denied certain grants, in order to receive more they will grade your child with lower marks than he/she makes. My child receives reduce price lunch. At the begining of the year he/she had an c average (tests were done, reading class were giving), at the end of the school year he/she received an c average...Not excelling in anything............ You as parents tell me what's wrong with this picture. (Lower grades equal more government grants) unfortunate for both parents and students.

I have had 5 children attend Wilson Elementary, starting in 1990 and the youngest is enrolled there now. It is a wonderful school, with excellent teachers, who are professional, caring individuals who only want our children to succeed. We have gone through several principals and have been very happy with each one, including the present principal. We have an active, involved PTA whose main concern is for the betterment of the students and who donate numerous hours to achieve the best for the school. If you are moving to Seminole County, Wilson Elementary should be part of your consideration.
