When considering a school, a parent must ask himself a critical question: "Will my child be prepared for the 'real world"? In recent weeks, I asked myself this very question. Tabernacle Christian is a school that will reinforce Christian values, but academically I am not sure if my child will be prepared. Problem(s): 1. The school does make an effort to address their lack of diversity. 2. Spanish History and African American History is not taught. 3. The school does not benchmark its academic program against other schools to see how it compares. 4. Unfortunately, racism is a major issue at the school and the principal is not proactive about addressing the issues. When kindergarten and first grade students are being told by their peers that they are the wrong color, it is a problem. The new principal never called me to address the issue after I reported problem. I went to her to discuss my concerns. Apparently, my child's self-esteem and development was not important enough! 5. When I discovered that were charter schools and public schools in the area with advanced and gifted program, multi-cultural educational programs, and high ratings, I had to rethink.

LOVE our school! My children have been at The Tabernacle Christian School since K4 and are now in middle school. We have nothing but good things to say about the education they are receiving. I have friends in public school and I always compare notes and we are on track, if not ahead of public schools academically. The loving atmosphere cannot be found elsewhere. The teachers all know our childrens heart, which in this day and age is a breath of fresh air. Have there been "Hiccups" in the road? Of course there has, but where can you attend school and say that everything is perfect?

Funny, I've posted before on how terrible this school is and it was removed! Not a good academic school. i've heard parents that needed to get tutors to get their children up to speed in high school. Very sad for a private school.

I love The Tabernacle. Our children have had a wonderful experience. The teachers are loving and outstanding. The special theme days are so much fun. We have not experienced another school like this one.

Our daughter is in her last year at TCS. She has been there her entire elementary & middle. TCS is a wonderful school - principal is wonderful and genuine. Clearly the entire staff is here for the students and not just going to a job. Cant say enough about this great school.

Overall, I would recommend The Tabernacle Christian School over any other Christian School in the area. The Administation, Office Staff and Faculty majority are wonderful examples of Christian Leadership! The Tabernacle does face the same curriculum dilemma as most other Christians Schools: The curriculum is too rigid. Students average 6-8 test/quizzes per week which infringes upon opportunities for higher level and creative learning due to all of the fact memorization for quizzes/tests. It would be great to offer a Spanish course for elementary students, as well. There could also be improvement within class instruction to cater to all learning styles. More hands on activities would spark creativity and interest. I believe under the leadership of this administration a revised curriculum will eventually be established. One that includes less busy work and more meaningful learning application. All other areas of school leadership, service and parent involvement - I would definitely rank a 5!

TCS has served two generations in our family. Our children attended TCS and now our Granchildren have begun. The parent participation is amazing, the teachers are gifted individuals, the support staff and administration are both caring and professional.

We couldn't be more pleased with The Tabernacle Christian School. It has been a blessing to our family, especially our daughter who is graduating this year. I don't think we could have found a school with more caring teachers, principals, and staff. I couldn't possible say enough wonderful things about this school and how much they have impacted our lives. I know they will only continue to grow as more people become aware of this excellent school and I might add they have the best rates around. I would like to see at least one foreign language offered.

My son has been at this school for 5 years. I believe this is the best school in this area. Not only because of the curriculum but because I know in sending my child here there are people that pray on the school and students everyday. The principal and staff know the children by name. The school goes to great lengths to make learning fun.

One of the better schools in Florida. A well balanced mix of Christianity, sports and scholar orientated work. This school enriches the whole child and allows for personal exploration of the unique child.

It is a great school with a lot of activities for the children. There is an art, music, and sports program. The teachers tend to be strict and have a lot of structure in their classrooms.

All three of my children attended TCS and it was a very positive experience for them. We found the curriculum and teacher involvement to be incredible. When going on to high school our children scored well enough to be placed in honors classes and that's a credit to the great foundation received at TCS.

This school is the best! My 3 children having been coming here since 1997. I cannot say enough about how special this school is. The education is by far the best we have found in our area. The principle knows each child by name. He is so involved in all they do. I know when I drop my kids off in the morning that they are truly in a safe, loving, and nurturing enviroment. A place that teaches the love of Jesus. A place that offers a fantastic education. A place my children look forward to going to each day.

I have both of my children here at The Tabernacle and am very pleased with their education. In comparison to local public schools, my children are receiving a much higher level of education and more individualized attention. The children enjoy going to school because of the activities that are scheduled each month to make it fun.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
