We are so pleased with this school. They provide a great academic and religious education here! The minute we took a tour we knew we found the right place. It's a nuturing environment and the teachers really care and take the time to get to know each child individually. The is a lot of parent involvement as well...you can tell priorities are in the right place. I would recommend St. Martha Catholic School, without hesitation!
Private school level academics with the expected Catholic faith and community service teachings at a very affordable tuition well below that of area private and Christian schools. An inviting atmosphere that encourages high levels of parent involvement. Great facilities with plans to expand classrooms and add a new gym.
St. Martha Catholic Schoool is outstanding. Not only are the acedemics spot on, but their involvement in community activities and others' needs exceeds most other school in the county. The faculty works so well together to keep on top of today's ever-evolving student.
I am a veteran Catholic educator with many years of experience, in a number of different states. St. Martha Catholic School is top notch. It provides excellent academics along with faith and character development. It is a wonderful community to be a part of.
This is my seventeenth year working at St. Martha Catholic School. We have a very supportive staff working here. The children and their families are special to all of us. I am so lucky to be involved with such a wonderful school family.
I love St. Martha Catholic School! Aside from the best staff around, the students are amazing! I am so lucky to work with the children in my classes. The best part about teaching in such a wonderful place is seeing the smiles on the faces of the children when they say hello to you, whether you've had them as a student or not.
I have two children both in middle school at St. Marthas. They love all of the children that they attend school with- they are all great kids, that was not the problem. The staff will not allow the children to have any originality! There is a rule for everything and I believe this school is very overpriced. They are now asking for us to buy a certain pair of shoes for our kids. They are already not allowed to wear makeup, bracelets, necklaces, pattern headbands, socks below the ankles, nail polish, etc. My children often complain that the middle school teachers do not even teach. They come asking for my help saying they have no idea what the material is. Keep in mind both my kids are very bright but are stuck teaching themselves. I regret my school choice now.
We have 2 children attending St. Martha Catholic School. Both are very different, and the teachers respond positively to both! Rarely today do you see teachers going the extra step to make sure your child succeeds, but this is the norm at St. Martha Catholic School. My son's teacher even calls him at home to let him know how proud she is of him and to keep up the good work (she'll also let us know if he's slipping). Normally you hear teachers calling or contacting you on negative behavior. It is so nice to have positive reinforcement of good behavior. It's also nice to know that the counselor and resource teacher are also there to assist students whenever it is necessary. I wouldn't dream of sending my children anywhere else! Not only are they getting an excellent education, but they are also have their values reenforced.
This is a very good school. While the classes may be somewhat larger than those of public schools, I have never felt it affected my child's learning or special attention they may require. While my child was getting acceptable grades, they thought she would benefit from additional help and proactively brought in the resource teacher to work with her. I've found the children generally kind to one another and when an issue does arise, the teacher is quick to respond appropriately. The academic curriculum is strong. The values & discipline typically associated with a catholic school are present, but delivered in a very positive & happy environment.
I think the classes are over crowded and teachers are going over the work to fast and if some children dont understand they get lost in the shuffle and fail. The children aren't so nice either for it to be a christian school.
We have a child attending, as well as one who graduated. St. Martha's (from JR K, through 8th grade) is a special community! SMCS's environment provides interactive educational activities with state of the art technology. The environment promotes learning, recognition for achievement and support for one another. Coupled with the genuine, faith based and spirit building community activities, sports, drama, field trips, class trips, etc., SMCS is exciting & truley unique! The children are safe, they know the rules and enjoy their school experience. If you are seeking a faith based, supportive and enriching environment, St. Martha's is your place. The small 'family' friendly environment at SMCS, allows the children more confidence and shows in capabilities of achieving whatever they desire. We have very little turnover and an amazing and dedicated staff with exceptional teachers. And finally, we have the best, and most dedicated priest: Thanks Father Fausto!
As parents of two children at SMCS we are thrilled to send our daughters there. The school has given our daughter with learning disabilities the ability to feel confident and succeed compared to a public school environmnet where she continually 'failed.' Both of our girls love their school, are challenged daily and have a spiritual foundation that we are proud to see. The love and dedication of the faculty is leaps and bounds ahead of any school in the area and we toured them all....we were very impressed from the first day on and continue to hear/see things at school to make us proud to go there.
When choosing a school for our children, my husband and I were 100% committed to the idea of selecting a religious school, one that would reinforce and nurture our children in the Catholic faith, in addition to providing an excellent education provided by a dedicated faculty. We have found all that and more at St. Martha School. When we initially toured the school, we found the atmosphere to be warm and welcoming. The teachers are well-qualified, loving and committed to providing a quality education to all students. The teachers also use opportunities throughout the day (i.e. conflict on the playground or behavior in the classroom) to teach about Jesus and the lessons from the Gospels, not just during classroom religion classes, weekly chapel or school-wide masses. That is something you would never get at a public school, no matter how good it is.
St. Martha School is simply the best place for my children. You 'get it' when the door is held open for you by any child who happens to be near you. The faculty inspires a sense of respect for everyone and a measure of importance in each and every child. Academically, the teachers let no child fall behind while at the same time keep the eager and accelerated ones challenged. Community is strong here and life long relationships are being cultivated. It is small enough where teachers are aquainted with your children years before they have them as instructors. Our family truly loves this school and how important and special they have made our children feel, not to mention how they are preparing them to police their own behavior and coduct themselves respectfully in every circumstance in their future.
We wanted a small school that is like family. Our children are recieving an excellent education with faith based morals and guidance to protect and prepare them for adulthood.
Our family has been at St. Martha School for several years, and we cannot say enough great things about it! The academics are strong, the teachers are amazing, and the administration is dedicated - but having all this in a faith-based school is invaluable. I also love the well-roundedness of the academic program, offering religion, drama, computer lab time and Spanish as part of the regular curriculum. SMS is worth every penny - and more.
We have been at Saint Martha School for 4 years and love not only the education, but the values that are enforced. It is a loving environment that treats each child as an individual and recognizes and values their differences. The parents, children and staff create a sense of community that makes everyone feel at home.
Another side of the coin compared to the 2/7/08 entry .... My kids have been there for 4 years - Both meet public school 'gifted' guidelines & one has learning issues on top of that. I have proactively worked with the staff & resource teacher to make sure my children's needs are being met. SMCS is a warm, supportive environment that provides an academically challenging program while promoting & instilling Christian values & encourages its families to participate & support the broader community, both locally and internationally. Every school has it plusses and minuses. Here at SMCS the plusses definintely outweigh any minuses. While our principal is moving on this year, our teachers have a long term proven track record of commitment to SMCS and they are GREAT!
We Love Saint Martha Catholic School! If you are looking for the perfect combination of values and strong academics, this is the place for you. We went to a non-catholic private school for two years before coming to St. Martha and the difference in the overall sense of community is immeasurable. Our two children are so happy at Saint Martha and well ahead of other schools that we have compared academically. We would highly recommend Saint Martha to other families!
