I was there for two years, as Edward W. Jackson, in '77-'78. My father being stationed at Patrick, AFB, and living in the base housing next to the school. I will say, this was a great school then, and looks like it it great now. So, hats off to the people who keep up the good work there. I loved this school, and was sorry to leave the area. I even still have a textbook from this school. LOL!

My daughter is in the 7th grade this year and is doing quite well. I think her organizational skills have improved. They have a wonderful music program that we love. There is no perfect school but the feeling I get at DeLaura is that the majority of the faculty truly care about the kids and enjoy what they do.

I go to Delaura Middle now and It's fine. I'm on the 7th grade Tiger Team and most of our Teachers are great; Most. A few of them are really moody and get upset for no reason. The Gym really needs a working air conditioner because I'm afraid one of us is going to fall over because of a heat stroke. Teasing and Bullying isn't so bad, but there are alot of girls who think they're all that. The school needs a makeover, because it looks like a jail of some sort. I would say it's an okay school.

I used to go to Delaura Middle School before I moved to Texas and I like it alot. The teachers are great, they really care about the students and even though I was only there for a few months I really miss it like you wouldn't believe. The school is very sanitary and going up and down those stairs really gets you in shape. The only negative thing I have to say is that they really need to put a air conditioner in the gym because the fans aren't cutting it and it very much resembles Alcatraz on the inside but the outside is in bad shape also. Other than that I would recommend this school to everyone.

Delaura is an overall great school except for the appearance. It has mold and mildew promblems. The teachers are great they go to great lengths to tutor there students but I think they play favoritism towards students.

It's a good school, it looks a whole lot better on the inside then the outside. The teachers really care and it is well organized and clean.

Dear Parents, I am the parent of a DeLaura Middle School 7th grade student. If you love your child, or even care about him more than your dog, you will move heaven and earth to avoid sending your child to this school. I am withdrawing my son from DeLaura as soon as humanly possible! He has experienced unbelievable problems from his fellow students, many of whom appear to come from homes where the parents simply do not care about school. His core teachers are academically competent, but they do not coordinate homework assignments with each other, which often results in my son having over 4 hours of homework many nights. The administration seems helpless to prevent aggressive behavior by DeLaura students. The learning environment is characterized by constant intimidation and threats against my son. His grades have fallen directly as a result of the absence of effective discipline and teacher oversight.

DeLaura is in general a great school in great neighboorhood although I did not feel my daughter was save at all times. Principal and Assistant principal response to the issue was very poor.
