my child has been going to surfside for2 years she is in second grade and has such a good teacher and she loves it so much at surfside
This is a great school! The class sizes are small, the teachers are great and there is a very active PTO. Parents are encouraged to be involved. I have had 3 kids at Surfside and I couldn't be more pleased.
My children attended this school for 2 years before I pulled them out an enrolled them into another school in the area. The school staff for the first year was great! Then the second year I had many issues with my concerns not being taken seriously. My straight A student went down to a C student during her second year and nobody saw an issue with that other than myself. At meeting my concerns were yet again ignored. My kids have been much happier at their new school and my straight A student is a straight A student again! Her teachers at her new school work with me as well as with my child to help keep her that way! The first year we were very pleased and the second year the staff really let me down! As long as your child has a good teacher you will love this school!
My son started Kindergarden this year at Surfside, this is a great school. I would recomend this school to everyone.
The staff and administration are excellent. I would recommend this school.
This is a very good school.
I cannot say enough wonderfull things about Surfside. My boys are in 2nd and 4th grade, and have excelled there. The teachers are highly skilled and very personable with each child. It is a small neighborhood school without even a bus system. So the class sizes are small and idividualized attention is always available. The police and fire dept. are on the next street over and play a big part at the school, as they attend most activities. Surfside is an A school with a very close family feel between the faculty members, parents, teachers ect. If we do end up moving, even though I've lived here my whole life, Surfside will be what I miss most for my children. I wish I could bring it with me.
Very limited ability for parent involvement. Very few extracurricular activities. Principal doesn't seem to get to know the kids or parents. Most of the teachers teach to the FCATs, which is unfortunate for the kids and the teachers. Not very impressed.
Surfside is an excellent school. We recently relocated to Satellite Beach from VA, and have had a great experience. I have two sons, one is in 3rd grade and one is in 1st grade. Each has a wonderful, involved teacher. We are currently working up my 1st grader for a learning disability so we have been very involved with the school staff and everyone has been helpful and excellent. Surfside is an 'A' school and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an elementary school in this area.
