Great Teachers and Staff Members!! The principal is a very nice person!! I give this school 5 stars!!
Our family loves SRMS. It has a great band program with plenty of field trips and ways to get children involved. The teachers have always been great and willing to communicate by email for us busy parents. The portal to monitor grades has excellent detail and stays current. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is due to the buses. This school, which I believe this occurs at most schools these days, has some issues with monitoring behavior on the bus and keeping the "good" kids from suffering the wrath of the "bad." I will not put my son a bus, I don't feel it's safe.
Our family relocated here from New England and the students, teachers, and staff have been so great! i highly recommend this school, as it is organized, and seems to have great systems in place. Thank you SRMS!
Hey, i am a student at this school; i honestly do not think it could be any better, i do make mistakes and when i do get into trouble, the teachers and administraitors help to where they have that full knowelege that there will be no problems :] Also i learned and am learning alot at this school, i am a 7th grader at this school. i also want to say thatnk you alot to our staff, they are amazing. I am not sure what else to say, but i have alot of friends here and everyone is super nice. I hope to stay at this school for the rest of 7th grade and then my full 8th grade year :]
Hello, I've been working here for 7 years. I find this school to be a great learning enviroment for the students and we always try to get our messages across to the parents. The students here are so nice and well behaved! (even though we have a few individuals)
Great school, excellent teachers, my child learns alot, no problems, it's a great school for my daughter!
My son and I absolutely love this school! We think it's a great school to participate in because everybody is so kind there. We have had no problems whatsoever. Absolutely a great school.
Hello, I'm a student at this school and went to Sebastian Charter, my knowledge tells me the teachers here at SRMS teach you more then over at Charter. I really like it here. I am actually learning something even though there are student problems that will be cleared up soon. I beleive this is a Great School!
This is my son's first yr at SRMS. He was previously in private school, then home schooled for a year. I am impressed with the way the school is set-up. Extreme thought and provisions have been taken to ensure the children's safety. Yes, improvements could be made (ie: adult supervision in the bath rooms), but overall I am happy with this school. So far my child has not had any problems. I feel this is the best middle school in Indian River County.
SRMS has been a disappointment to us as parents and to our child. Our child came from an excellent elementary school in every aspect. We have faced teaching style conflicts, bullying issues, and 'developmental changes of a 6th grader'.We did not expect to have problems in middle school because of our strong foundation, and consistent above grade level scores on FCAT and NORM testing. The 1st obstacle was a conflict in teaching style and learning style form out strongest subject. We had meetings to work out differences at which time I was advised that it was not elementary school where reinforcement learning is practiced-Math is (dis)connected learning now.Our child was attacked by another student, and bullied on several other occassions. The school contributes much of this to developmental changes at the 6th grade level. Our student does not feel safe at schooland does not stay for afterschool activities. The largest problem is overcrowding and safety.
