Meigs Middle School is wonderful. It is a safe school with a fantastic academic program coupled with great teachers. My kids are thriving at this school. This school offers a good sports program too. My only complaint is that it could do a better job of utilizing parents/volunteers.

Meigs Middle School is the finest middle school in Okaloosa County. It is the only magnet school for the "Talented and Gifted" student at the middle school level. The teachers are extremely well-qualified. Our experience has been positive. As parents of two bright kids, Meigs has exceeded our expectations! The culture of the school is positive and encouraging for children at all levels. But for a gifted or advanced child, Meigs is a safe haven where children are rigorously challenged to be the best that they can be. I have never seen a public school of this caliber for the gifted child.

I would not reccomend this school to anyone! The teachers aren't very helpful, and the education isn't that good.

Meigs rocks! it's one of the very top schools in our county (okaloosa)! If you are thinking about going to Meigs, we love new kids and the staff is really nice. I'm in TAG (talented and gifted) and it's a great program. I'm going into 7th grade and i hope it is as fun as 6th grade was! Written by: Ariel Dahne

Meigs is a great place to build memories and friendships. The teachers are really cool and they make learning fun. I'm always a bit sad that one day I'm going to leave for another school. I'll never forget the social, educational, and extra-curricular activities that went on in this great school.

I attend meigs middle school and I would say it is an awesome school. It has great teachers and it is one of the best middle schools around. It has wonderful sports to get involved in and a kick-butt band. I think 19 of their band members made all-county, and 3-5 made all-state. It has great classes ranging from esol(for the spanish kids) to tag( talented and gifted). The teachers are absolutely great. And bullying isnt a problem at all. I havnt been pushed around at all since Ive been at meigs. But the only thing I would change is the school food. It is cold, and sometimes unedible. But other than that, it is a great choice for your child. Take it from me, this is truly thebest middle school around. -Coral makara

I am a current eighth-grade student in TAG (Talented and Gifted) at Meigs MS. There are few problems with pickup at the end of the day, most parents catch on very quickly. As far as bullying goes here, it's hardly a problem. I've been attending the school since sixth-grade and have not had a problem to date. The extracurricular activities would satisfy anyone I believe. Meigs has one of the best bands in the state, and there are plenty of sports. The teachers I've had to this point are simply fabulous (especially in mathematics), many giving students their phone numbers for one-on-one help. Currently, the highest math course is Honors Geometry. Both Honors Algebra-1 and Geometry also count for high school credits, thus students aren't forced to take them later. For those students between gifted and regular classes, there are 'advanced', middle-of-the-road classes.

School seems very clean, office workers are all very nice. They have classes for SLD children and advanced courses. I am homeschooling my children and if I choose a school, it will be Meigs Middle School.

My son received a superior education at Meigs. His teachers were dedicated and dynamic. The small school atmosphere creates a sense of community where students, teachers, and parents work together cooperatively. They really do care! There are many programs at Meigs for student participation. The band and chorus programs are exemplary. In addition, the school has an excellent athletic program with almost every sport you can think of. The coaches are dedicated professionals. Be sure and visit Meigs. It s a great school!
