Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

the school it self is improving. Not so sure about the school board. Last week spoke to the superintendents office and not pleased at all. Went thru several personnel to get an answer. Who is running what? Not the superintendent Nasty attitudes..

Wow what a difference! The school is truly becoming a top notch place. The staff and admon are friendly, and they really care about the students.

This school has changed for the better. The Principal Mr. Fancher is the best. He really does care about the students and it shows. The school has a warm and open atmosphere, and under Principal Fancher the school has been an A two years in a row.

This school is horrible. My daughter is a junior and has gone here for 2 years and my son is a sophomore and has only been there 1 year. I am a very involved parent and it seems like I'm one of the only ones. There seems to be no parental contributions. However, there are a couple of good teachers and administration. I have seen one of the asst. principals almost every time we have been at the school. The principal also seem pretty good. However their asst principal that handles discipline is a joke. He writes kids up for no reason. The teachers do not want to stay after and break commitments. One of the best teachers they had moved to Ohio because she was one of the few that were actually there for the students. My daughter is in AP and Honors classes as well as Nat'l Honor Society but still failed the FCAT. How is that possible? There are no parent/teacher conferences and drugs are in every bathroom. The sports programs are also a joke. Complete favoritism. I think that the fact that they can not keep a soccer coach says something. And don't email or call, you won't get return calls from most. Lastly, their newest guidance counselor is a joke. Bad bad school.

First year dealing with St Cloud High School and so far the front office staff is not helpful at all . I tried calling the main number and no one picks up you have to call like 10 times before someone actually answers. And when they do answer they huff and puff like they are bothered. After being put on hold for 30mins I still didn't get an answer to my question.

SCHS is the only school I've seen to date that feels more like a family than just individual students, faculty and parents.

st cloud high school is the worst... the teachers mostly don't care about their students and there is bullying right under their noses and they say nothing. I graduated OHS and took the Lynx for 2 hours a day to go there instead of SCHS.

as a student at st cloud, the one thing i would say is good about this school is that it does have a few great teachers. most yes, arent the best but there are a few that are outstanding. the campus isnt too great, and it is way to oevercrowed. the only thing keeping me there is the few good teachers.

Compared to the schools in the county, there is no other school I would dare send my child to. I have had one child graduate from SCHS with no problems and another that started out over at Gateway HS and was so miserable in the IB program which is unfortunately only available at GHS that he left and came to SCHS where he is doing much better and is much happier. Both of my boys have done well at SCHS and their father and I are both college educated parents from Florida State University.

As an Alumi to SCHS, I am very proud that my son is now a Bulldog too. He is active in sports and takes all honors courses. Yes, the school is a bit outdated compared to Harmony, however it still retains it's small town feel to it. There are still teachers there that taught when I was in school . (over 15 years ago) I have had nothing but great experiences with this school. The baseball and football programs are very supportive of my son's academic achievements. He likes getting up and going to school everyday and will go on to college. I am very satisified with SCHS. Go Bulldogs!!!

The school is absolutely filthy, most teachers don't care about the overall students education, the sports program is lacking, a lot of the teachers don't teach; they hand the students worksheets. The discipline is unorganized and the punishments do not match the actions. The principal seems to care about the asthetic look of the school more than the students actual needs. The teachers are unreliable. There is a major lack in support of the arts, which would expand the students creative mentality level, which is needed in the future for any kind of career.

As a student in St. Cloud with the new principal Mr. Muri this year is a lot better than with Mr. Sullivion. Mr. Muri is taking the seniors on an over-night college field trip. He has high expectations for the school and in the next few years I belive that St. Cloud can be turned around, and made better.

The quality of academic programs is excellent and is comparable to all other district school. Great student pride. Parental involvement exceeds many of other district schools. The building structure is old, cramped classrooms, lunch room is inadequate for student population, gymnasium dated. The general aesthetic appearance is not appealing. No true front entrance to the school.

Our experience with St. Cloud High School has been disappointing. From the lack of responsiveness in the Administration office to the poor academic choices, to the acceptance of bad behavior , to teachers that don't give a hoot -- this school, unfortunately, is build on a bad reputation.

The overall environment of SCHS is that of a friendly and safe nature. Many of the advanced class teachers are extremely good ones, and the material is not only taught well, but they know the material themselves. However, many advanced and dual enrollment classes are being removed from budget, as well as several elective courses, reducing overall class selection significantly. A great deal of emphasis is placed on sports, attention and budget wise, though, and no athlete will be left behind. With a few exceptions, SCHS has a very low violence rate, and overall there is little to no bullying. The school seems to have a very low budget, because we don't have several things, icluding this year's 'paper shortage,' and we have no stage for performances (but sports gets plenty of funding, maybe due to Boosters?) Overall a good school, with a friendly staff and students.

St. Cloud has advanced classes and also dual enrollment which allows students to get college credit for some classes their Jr. and Sr. year. Some students go into college as a sophomore because of this ability. This year the school principal George Sullivan supported the school sponsoring a FIRST Robotics Team which exposed the kids to science and technical fields. This gave them the opportunity to meet mentors that are professionals in those fields from Disney and NASA. They even met Gov. Jeb Bush and NASA director James Kennedy at the competition. Many of the teachers go the extra mile for the students. Some parents are very dedicated in helping the school.

I have two son's in this school. One in 11th grade one in 9th. So far this school has been out standing. I have no complaints at all. I think it has alot to do with parent involement and school leadership. My son's are in advanced classes and are doing very well. I cannot say one bad thing about this school and have told others how good this school has been.
