Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Our family loves Southland...our son started there in K5 and he continues his education there and now is in the 5th grade.. Southland is a family school and everyone is friendly and the older students take care of the younger students. The school is in a new location at 2440 Fortune Rd. Kissimmee,Fl. Once you enroll your child into Southland then you can see for yourself.

My son has been at Southland and is going into the 5th grade in August 2014. He has been attending Southland since K5 and all the teachers he has had have taught my son much in their own ways of teaching.. We believe that this is the Best school for him and we wouldnt send him to any other. The teachers are so understanding with the students and parents and we feel very comfortable about sending our son to SCS...The teachers my son has had make learning fun, but work hard....and my son told me that SCS is the best school in the world!! He really loves going to school and learning about alot if different subjects.

Just this past school year,I made a transition to a public school. Since SCS's A Beka curriculum was supposedly "2 years ahead of public school",I thought i would be so prepared. WRONG. In fact, they are two years BEHIND. I felt so dumb compared to the public school students. If I were a parent considering to send my child to a school for good education,I definitely wouldn't send them here. Why pay tons of money for a poor education when you can get free,good-quality education at a public school? Exactly. I regret my elementary and middle school years here, but I don't regret leaving Southland Christian for the rest of my life. - student

My years at Southland were great and all but my last year made me see some negatives:if youre a "Christian" and you sing secular songs or curse, the teachers think you've "changed", negative reviews on public schools, saying they are uneducated, and they added some rules that are just ridiculous, and their view on the world is "demonic" or "bad". I came here for an education, not a life seminar. I was so blinded by this the past years, but I see it now. I believe this school wouldnt be suitable for my kids since im not "one of them". - student

The school is actually K3 through 12th grade and has the A Beka Curriculum which is very advanced and traditional. The curriculum is about two years ahead of public schools in our area and affordable. They do expect their students to display respect and remind them of their manners. My child has been enrolled for three years now.

My children are no longer enrolled in Southland. The Administrators made some very poor decisions. I would not trust that this school would act in the best interest of my children.

My child completed his first year at Southland and I am astounded at the level of learning. At the end of Kindergarden he can read, count, do math and has a grasp of living a wholesome, Christian life. The teachers and staff are very 'into' kid's lives and it is because of that the children know they are accountable for their actions. There is also a genuine concern and fondness expressed for each child there. The staff know the kid's names and address them daily. These kids know that they are special. I highly recommend Southland and plan to continue there as long as possible.

Sadly, the parent who has taken her child out and put them into Heritage has made a big mistake. Heritage has a DARK spirit over the school and church and really needs to be anointed by the Lord. Maybe her son had problems and they were trying to help. We are taking our daughter out of Heritage and putting her into Southland. They ALL believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and have wonderful values to help the students both academically and spirtitually. I will be praying for the parent and child that left Southland.

My son was a student at this school for two years. I have withdrawn him. Sadly, the staff is more into the personal lives of the students than in teaching and remaining professional. My son felt very uncomfortable and asked me to help him find another school. He is now enrolled at Heritage. I would not recommend this school. Please do not enroll your child at this school. Thank you for reading.

Southland Christian School is the best school I have ever attended. Some people think tha is is like a prison and you have no freedom, well, all they are just trying to keep you out of prison! Principle Ennis, Mrs. Ennis, Mrs. Weiss, Mr. Weiss, Mrs. Baker, Mr. Williamson, Mrs. Johnson, Ms. Hamilton, Ms. Colon, Mr. Oliff, Mr. Attin, Mrs. Swepman, Mrs. G (Gillespie), all care and want you to prosper in your life, to be unselfish, but the #1 thig is to love God! I would rrecomend this school to everyone!

southland is a great school and all of the teachers truly care about their students and really only want the best for them, as for the students the atmpsphere is very accepting and freindly, in accademics they are far beyond what other schools are and as far as the sports go they are awesome, the basketball team and the girls volleyball team have claimed the district title for 3 years. SCS is a great place to put your children and you can expect only the best from this school.

The teacher's are not certified, they use the Abecca cirriculum which is homeschooling materials. The school is extremeley militant! Their primary focus is on discipline, not on teaching. Would not recommend this school!!! My son was there for 2 years. Thank you.

Principal Ennis values and beliefs are very old school. He is rude and not very christian like. I have never seen so many 'fundraisers' and such at one facility. Golf tournaments with a goal of $30,000? Come on! We even received flyers about paying for carpeting that was damaged due to hurricaine's asking us to pay for the renovation of the one school bus they have.

I love this school. They are so into teaching and bible study and not into testing like the public schools! They are not strict at all, if anyone says that then it's because they would prefer thier kids to run a muck.

well, my opinion of the school is that it could be better. The teachers are to strict and into the students lives too much. If Southland wants to bring people to God they should stop being such bible extremists. The students have no freedom, its like a prison. I dont know how others feel about the school but I'd never let my kids attend if I had a choice. -Angie Suarez

Very advanced academically at least by one grade ahead. Students are extremely well behaved in class. They pay attention, are patient and do not talk until the teacher is ready. Also, taught manners, respect and self-discipline while learning by a very on top of each student's schoolwork and definately there to assist each student .

One Word: Leadership. If your are looking for a school with perfect kids, and teachers, your better keep looking. At Southland, teachers are real, and the students love being there. This school not only teaches the really important academics, but also has a great respect for the Bible. It's a great school.

Southland is an excellent school. We have had both of our children enrolled there since they were in the K-3 program. They are now in 4th and 6th grade. We have seen the genuine care and concern by the faculty and administration. They care for the children they teach and are truly interested in their whole life. The A Beka curriculum is excellent; it provides continual review and reinforcement. For a small school, they have tried to implement as many extra-curricular activities as they can. They have good sports programs and their drama program is growing. I would recommend Southland to anyone looking for quality, private education.

Southland Christian School is the best Christian school I have ever been to. The teachers and the staff just love workin with their students and helping them learn more. If I dont understand something, I would ask my teacher that is teaching that class to explain it to me, and then afterwards if I still dont understand it. They will take their free time to explain it to their student. I love Southland Christian School! Plus, they have excellent sports!
