The teachers really care for the students at cypress Park Elem.Music arts, and sports programs are great. The one downfall is that there is not an after school program for the children other then the one they have to walk 1 mile to.My son loves it here though.

On my first visit to Cypress Park Elementary I had mixed emotions. The school is situated among trailer homes and I was worried that the school would not be as challenging or safe as a parent would expect. However, Cypress Park Elementary is a good school. My son is now in 3rd grade and has been definately challenged this year. I will note that I was disappointed with 2nd grade. The teachers were laid back and he breezed through. For example, he had the same homework assignment every night from the start of the school year to Christmas break -- write 2 sentences. After the Christmas break that was changed to writing 3 sentences every night for homework. Even after I spoke to the teacher, the homework assignment didn't change. In 3rd grade, homework varies and he sometimes has science, math, reading. He actually has to think now.
