My son attended Second Chance school for three months, his attendance record is excellent, and his academic grades are all A's and one C. I think this is a very poor school of choice. Most of the teachers and staff act as if they have something better to do with their time. Students don't get enough attention. Basically the students are assigned work and given a quick explanation of how to do it then the rest is up to them. That's not teaching. And it seems kind of strange that 76% of the students are African American and 24% are white according to the information on the web site. Only 17% of the students graduate. That is very unacceptable. The average expenses per student for most Florida schools is $8,000.00 but at second channce it's $12,000.00 per student. Why pay spend more on poor education?
