I love Ruediger because the teachers really take an interest in the child. They follow the policy no child left behind.

The teachers are great but I must say that I am unimpressed by the new, first time principal. Hopefully she will improve dramatically or, better yet, find another school.

Ruediger is a great school. My son came to this school at the later 4th grade from China. At beginning, he had hard time at reading and writing since he had learned little English when he was in China. Now he can read some reading materials for 6th grade (gets around 80% questions correctly), and he started in a middle school with confidence. The after-school program is also very good, and it is good place to do homework and to play. My son was enjoying the learning and the playing in Ruediger. My son s teachers Mrs. Mischler, Mrs. Olsen, and Mrs. Welke in Ruediger are nice and worked hard and professionally. By the way, my son got the 3rd place at 5th grade Mini-Mu Math in February 2008! He used to have hard time to read the math questions when he just came to Ruediger.

Ruediger Elementary School is an 'excellent' school. My daughter has been there since Kindergarden and she is now in the 5th grade. I have loved every teacher that she has had throughout the years and I will miss Ruediger when she goes to Middle School next year! I recommend Ruediger to any parent who wants their child to have a good acedemic background!

Really good schools for kids. Outstanding teachers such as Ms. Moyer, Ms.Ellis. They now have a dynamic Principal too.

Ruediger is a good school academicaly and for extracurricular activities the only thing that I do not appreciate is the administration office.

This is my son's first year at Ruediger in K-5. So far, we have had an excellent experience. His kindergarten teacher is very excited about teaching and working with the parents. Teaching the children to read is one of her passions. She is diligent in sending the homework assignments home each week and meeting with the parents if a need arises. Mrs. Moyer is a great asset to the Kindergarten classroom.

About the tests

In 2013-2014 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT 2.0) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, 3 through 8 in math, in grades 5 and 8 in science, and in grades 4, 8, and 10 in writing. The FCAT 2.0 is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Florida. The FCAT 2.0 has 5 achievement levels, with level 1 being the lowest and level 5 the highest. Florida considers scores of level 3 and higher to be on or above grade level. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3.

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
