My child has been attending STARS since the day they opened. I am very involved with the school. I even joined the PVO to assist the teachers, students, and other staff. There are some positive and negative elements about this school, just like any other school. SMS is a uniform school and I really like that. I believe the discipline is very direct. Sometimes to the extreme...That is an opinion of mine. The teachers are exordinarily great with my child. She has learned so much and made wonderful relationships with teachers and students alike. It is a hard school, but it is a good school. I recommend it to people almost everyday. To have a great school, more parents need to step up to the plate and pitch in.

We sent our child here after a very bad year in 6th grade at one of the other schools. The staff is very open to communication with us, and the small class sizes mean that the kids get the attention that they need. We have been recommending this school to other parents. While the music and PE programs are not what you would expect to find at other schools (very limited budget), the teachers compensate by being creative about how they teach the subjects. The extra activities after school are unlike anything I remembered from my middle school. It's a fantastic school!

I sent my child to this school for it's first opening year and I regret it! There was nothing but problems from day one. They have serious problems in their discipline procedures. My child did not have one day of P.E. class either. Also, they took finals this year and the grades didn't even appear on their report cards! My child will NOT being going back there next school year!!
