The teachers and staff are wonderful! The curriculum is unique and very well planned. The school offers a wide variety of classes. Physical education is one hour every day, which is almost unheard of in any Hillsborough County School currently! Children are encouraged to succeed and if help is needed the teachers go out of their way to make time for each student. We are extremely happy there!
NSS is a great opportunity for kids. Their teaching is more hands on which allows the children to get the experience they need to excel. Free after school tutoring is a major plus considering how pricey tutoring can cost. I also love the fact they do FCAT practice on Saturdays. I know for some parents it would be a imposition to bring their child to school on Saturday, but I find it refreshing to know they work on other things in the classroom other than FCAT. I would recommend this school to any parent who has a child that enjoys learning and who is looking for a zero tolerance discipline.
I find this school to be one of the best my children have been to. Every school has their faults, but this school has positives that out weigh the negative. I would recommend this school to anyone who has a child that excels in Math and Science. Any negative review for this school comes from the children who get into trouble there.
I have a child in this schools elementary school and I find it to be a very pleasant experience. I feel this is a great opportunity for my child since it is a school where they know everyone by name and not by a number. At this school, I feel, they pay attention to everyone and make sure this get handled. The after-school clubs and care are a great help for the average working parent. This schools offers so much hope for kids in the area!
If you are a dedicated parent and your child is focused and want to learn, this is the school. Science Olympiad Team achieved to get 1st place in 2012 Regional Science Olympiad out of arround 40 schools. Dedicated teachers. Great After school activities. But ifyour child is not focused and do not want to learn, DO NOT bother sending your child here. Apart from science olympiad, this school has a whole variety of after school clubs, activities, and other great experiences to encounter. If your child is dedicated they will MOST PROBABLY love NSS... There are alot to participate in such as CMP, olympiads, perfomances on stages, and so much more. Going to this school, I could say that participating in these events was one of the best social experiences for my kid.
This school is by far the worst school I've been to.Some of the teachers hardly speak english, the principal doesn't do anything, and they have absolutely no sense of organization.I refuse to serve another year at NSS.This school doesn't make you feel welcome at all, I wouldn't recommend anyone to this jail.
