My son goes to this school and I am very pleased with his academic pro. gress. He is now a first grader but his Kindergarden teacher, Mr. Rodriguez, is the best teacher my son has had so far. Thank you Mr. Rodriguez for being so organized and for teaching my son so much.

Regarding the award ceremony this evening - a friend pointed out... "Kinda sounds like they are being prepped for an early release program from prison. Be bad, go to jail, act good, get out early(the trophy). How about recognizing the good kid for always behaving, doing their work, being cooperative, not going to jail. These reward systems create adults who expect every thing handed to them, no matter what they do. And life probably won't work out that way for them."

The principal promotes education by offering tutoring on Saturday (known as Saturday Academy), and enables the children to attend by arranging bus service to and from the school.

Forest hills is one of the best schools I have ever dealt with. The teachers and administrators are very caring and helpful. Even the very few times that I was angry about something they remained courteous and helpful ( which was very embarassing) I have now had my daughter, three grandchildren and now my great-granddaughter in attendance at forest hills, so I am more than just casually acquainted with this school and its people.

My son attended Forest Hills for five weeks. Myself and my son both loved the school and his teacher Mrs. Hanke!

This school has some issues including safety, lack of parent involvment, among other things. Certainly not the worst school but I think I can find better for my child.

The teachers and the Principal of Forest Hills really care about the students education and physical welfare. This year I took my daughter out of Forest Hills to enter a Magnet school, which I thought might give her more opportunties, but after several months decided the personal caring, along with the education at Forest Hills was way better for my child. She has done well at both schools-but her and I perfer the all around caring and teaching at Forest Hills. The teachers and the Prinicpal are excellent and want the best for each child.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
