I am a retired soldier and a substitute, working on becoming a teacher. I've been to about 70 different schools and this is probably the worst I've seen as far as behavior. It is the lack of HOME training, structure, discipline, and teaching home skills that sets these kids up for failure in this school, NOT the teachers. Parents, if you want the best for your kids invest that time and teach some basic respect and manners so your children care enough to do their classwork and homework as well as function and compete in society later for that better college and job. Stop blaming teachers and start blaming yourselves parents. Your baby has 8760 hours in a year and only 943 hours a year are spent in school. Where is your pre-teen and what is he/she doing for 7817 hours a year?
I am substituting at this school and I have been to many schools in this county as a substitute. This school is by far the worst Ive seen as far as attitude, discipline, and overall appeal. I know middle school can be a difficult time in the life of a lot of students, but each and every middle school I have been to has put these students to shame. It is clear these students have no discipline or respect at home, or in the school environment.
The teachers are awesome here, however the principal and AP's are not on the same page as far as discipline goes. They say one thing, and do another. Consistency is the key word here, and they really need to learn what it means.
