Wilson Middle School

this was the worst school my child has ever been to. she was bullied everyday and all the teachers knew about it, yet did nothing. Even the principal. This school almost lead my child to suicide. It needs help. DON'T SEND YOUR KID THERE.

This is a great school. The principal is good, the teachers are caring and teach well, and the students are smart and care about education. Three-fourths of us are in Honors! The electives are great as well, and in addition you get one of maybe twenty enrichment clubs. You can get incentives for honor roll, the best being front of the lunch line every single day! The Principal's Honor Roll and High Honor Roll both have extremely long lists! You have a great opportunity to take Algebra in seventh grade, like I am doing this year. There is also a great sports program and a great neighborhood high school. If you can at all, go to Wilson, do it! Bulldogs Rock!

I came to Wilson from an amazing middle school in New York and was utterly dissapointed. The principal is downright mean, the classes are mediocre and easy, carrying a binder around everywhere is unpractible, and there is completely dispicable treatment of students. Even my bus can be up to 2 hours late at least once a week. The only good thing is that I am guarenteed an easy A in all of my classes.

My son is ADD and dyslexic. He has never had such a good school year, he has great self-esteem, he has taken responsability for all his school work and all is from the teachers, how they treat him, the other children also, with respect, obvious love and care and they expect a lot from the kids, so they live up to their teachers's expectations.

The Principal, staff and teachers at this school are absolutely the best. They are attentive to student needs and do what is necessary to make sure they get the best possible education in the safest environment. My daughter is now a Plant High School graduate attending NYU and I really do not this would have been possible without the encouragement, development and attentiveness she received during those most vulnerable years for any child while attending Wilson Middle School.

Wilson Middle School is a school of excellence they want us children to succeed they will do anything for us and our education any goal that is made is always reached our school will not make a goal and not reach it this is my first year and Im glad to know that the next 2 years of my life will spent at Wilson Middle School a school of excellence the value of education recieve their is higher than anyone can reach . If you want your child to go to an excellent school look no further Wilson is the place for you

I've worked about 6 middle schools in my 20 year teaching career. This is the best! The parents are involved, the teachers feel a passion for what they do and the students value education! Perfect? No, but it's pretty darn close!

I believe my child is recieving a good education. As in life there are good teachers and those who need improvement. I find the discipline policies- 'prison lunches' rather extreme. The lack of afterschool activities is severely lacking. Students have the only a choice of volleyball, track or basketball. There is no afterschool transportation so if you are a working parent it makes it very difficult. I am a working parent and feel my responibility for my childs education rests in the home not volunteering for a fundraising night at the school! Overall, I feel my childs' educational needs are being met. In comparison to other schools in the area Wilson is above average.

I found the level of commitment to the children from Ms. Woodford (principal) to be extraordinary. When an issue arose involving our child, she moved on it right away, which included quite a bit of time on her part. I am aware of issues involving other children with the same results. As for any division between those with money and those without, it does not exist. The only differential is between those parents who actively participate and those who do not. If you want a quality education for your child - make the time to get involved ... at any school. Parenting is not a spectator sport. I have compared math, reading and comprehension skills from students from Wilson vis-a-vis other local private schools, and am convinced that, although publicly funded, Wilson is one of the best 'private schools' in the area. The only place it falls down is in extracurricular activities.

We are very impressed with Wilson Middle School. It is influenced top down with a very strong administration and very concerned about the children and the education that is received. They take parents seriously in my experience. The teachers have been very receptive to us working together. They could have more choices for electives- especially for those non musical or not interested in band/ orechestra related music. Academically- they challenge the students and yet allow social experiences to occur at appropriate times. We are very happy with Wilson. Go Bulldogs!

I am, by no means, rich and I feel confident about the great support & education my child receives @ Wilson. Not only are they doing much better in more advanced classes & scoring higher in FCAT's, but they're also involved in extracurricular activities. Wilson is blue ribbon school & proves it by their standardized test scores.

It is a big disappointment that Wilson School does not have a school chorus or music/singing program for the students

The school has a great reputation for their teaching. However, they also take it to the next level with their rude behaviour and lack of respondence to parents with issues. This school has alot of student with parents with money.. And those students are the ones that get the attention and the full benefit of the school.. For as much money that is donated to this school and all the fund raisers they have they are quite behind and out of date with alot of things that you would assume from how much they toot their horn about how great they are.. I say a magnet school beats them out of the water any day!
