Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Tampa Bay Technical is an amazing school. I graduated class of 2013. It was the only high school I applied for and I don't regret a moment of it. The teachers and the administrators are very caring and attentive to their students. Great school to attend and I would recommend to anyone!

Awful. That's the only word I can think to describe this school. No dedication and the students learn more at home on their own free time than they do in the classrooms. I am never sending my children here and I advise you to do the same. Your child will become depressed and no counseling will be available at the school to help. This school cares more about their A average than if the students actually learn anything.

I'm being around this school for the last 8 years. Overall an excellent school. The participation in sports and clubs help my children very much, making their high school experience very positive. They love the multiracial environment. My suggestion is to review non core classes and to integrate others that prepared them more for college, like philosophy. I will be missing driving to Tech. Titans pride, Go Tech!

I have just finished Freshman year here at TBT. I wouldn't say that this school is terrible, but I also wouldn't say it is the very best. I was not miserable, I overall had a good time. Getting involved in clubs and extracurricular activities makes your first year more fun. The teachers and staff are overall accepting and mostly dedicated. Like any other high school, fights break out occasionally and the smell of illegal drugs can fill the air. Although, this is not because of the school, but because of some of the students. You are not labeled at this school like most cliche high schools, there are no abundant groups of jocks, nerds, punks, or popular kids. You can basically be friends with anyone without being directly labeled into a specific group. Teachers are great, but watch out for the newbies, they either may take their job too seriously, or not give a care in the world about it at all. I was not bullied my Freshman year which is a pleasant welcoming. All in all, this school was a pretty good first experience into the world of high school.

My daughter was in the medical program for one year and learned a lot, this year she switched to architecture program and she is having and awesome year, not to much to complain except that I guess teachers are not used to Edsby because some of them don't update it, but a lot to mention, the AP classes are really good, the AP teacher Dr. Pool is the best.

Tampa Bay Technical High School is a great school. The teachers care about the students and offer extra help whenever needed. The office administration is efficient, organized and attentive. The difference between this great school and other academic institutions is that this learning facility is not into the power of authority, but rather into the love of education . Totally an A school.

This school is wonderfully horrid, the only thing that you will be able to learn at this establishment is how to procreate with multiple partners and do so discreetly so that the staff will not be informed about your doings. My daughter had the greatest time learning how to set fire to the trashcans which are surprisingly full of flammable rubber contraceptions. She told me in great detail how her teacher spent the entire class period showing another student how to get rid of her love bite due to her constant interruptions of the class with her fear that her mother would find it.

If you are looking to take a Health Science class do not take CNA ! You will not be able to sit for the exam as promissed and paid for before graduation...this makes this class and it's only teacher useless. No ACCOUNTABILITY this is the second year that the CNA Class was not able to finish with a CERTIFICATION.. So aLL THE CHILDREN WERE LEFT BEHIND.

Tampa Bay Tech has a diverse population of students that come from all over the county to attend this high school. We have many academies that students apply to get into, including:Architecture, Health Academy, Commercial Art, Journalism, Early Childhood, and Culinary. Students at Tech are proud to be there, and strive to graduatate high school not only with a strong academic background, but also with a skill set that will make them more competitive job applicants.

A major flaw about this school is that they DO NOT LISTEN/CARE about individual student's needs. As a student, in the 2009-2010 school year, I was placed in classes beyond my capabilities, and pretty much no matter who I asked to get that fixed, I was basically told to deal with it. I was told repeatedly that I could do the work, despite my failing grades in the class.

I have 2 daughters who graduated from the Health Magnet program. Both were honors students, took AP classes, and got college credit for AP classes and their SAT scores. They had lots of excellent teachers at TBT. As teachers retired, they were replaces with equally excellent teachers. The principals have been excellent, caring individuals who boosted that school to new heights. My girls got an excellent education in Hillsborough county but the best was TBT. Both are honors students in college who are receiving accolades and are true success stories. As a parent, I couldn't have asked for a better educational experience for my children.

As the parent of a 9th grader who started at Tampa Bay Tech this year I am truly pleased with my daughter's comfort level at the school. She is excelling both academically and socially and is looking forward to joining two clubs and participating in sports next quarter. Considering that my daughter turned down an offer at one of the IB High Schools, I think she made an excellent choice in selecting Tampa Bay Tech High School. I could see her being fully equipped with a good foundational education to prepare her for medical school. I am looking forward to participating in the PTSA and I hope that in 2011 my review of Tampa Bay Tech would be just as excellent. To the Administration, Teachers and Staff I say keep up the good work.

I'm a current student at tech. tech is an amazing school, offering a huge variety of, well, everything. they have foreign languages not offered anywhere else, the hands-on learning is unrivaled in the state, not to mention the awesome teachers that work there. the sports teams at tech aren't very big, and many don't reach it to states. but this doesn't effect students as much as you would think- we actually focus more on school than anything else.

I am a former student at Tampa Bay Technical High School. The school offers a variety of pre-professional programs such as nursing, pharmacy, engineering, mechanics, business..etc, that will enable your child or children to enter in a competitive workforce and/or advance in college. Their programs offer book knowledge and hands on experience enabling your child to decide if that is a field they would like to continue to explore in college or if they are best suited for a different career. I graduated from the Health Academy and decided that I did not want to become a physician; ultimately I am seeking to be a psychologist. Graduate school here I come!

I'm a current student and will be graduating in 2005. The education I have recieved is better than many but not nearly as good as it could be. I am in soccer and drama and wish that we did have parent involvement which we don't. TBT is a good school but it could be so much better if we tried.

Tech is virtually a 'mini-college.' Admission is conditional thus eliminating many potential discipline or attendance problems. Curriculum is geared toward today's increasingly technologically based economy. Students are focused, goal-oriented and seemingly more mature than the average high-schooler; additionally, they are drawn from a county-wide area which creates cultural and geographic diversity. Teachers are professional, experienced and caring. Campus is clean and attractive. Graduates leave with necessary knowledge and tangible skills to become productive members of society. I love this place!
