Bayshore Christian School

The people who posted the last 2 reviews in 2013 should be ashamed of themselves for making such unfair and frankly in my opinion, untrue accusations! I am a parent of a child that goes to BCS and people here are VERY Christian and are NOT stuck up AT ALL! Mrs. Humenansky is the sweetest person and would NEVER treat someone badly nor turn someone away who needed help. In fact, my daughter has a friend who was in desperate need of school guidance (this child does not even go to this school by the way) and Mrs Humenansky and Mrs Stenholm offered to take their time after school to meet with her and try and help her...Why? because they are very nice, christian women who care... The other highly regarded public school in the area where she had attended would not give this girl the time of day to help her...I have only seen staff at BCS go above and beyond to enrich the students lives academically and spiritually every day. It is such a shame that people would choose to post such hurtful things about a school that is truly trying to make a difference in their students lives on a daily basis..

This school should be ashamed to call themselves Christians. They recently refused admittance to an A/B honor roll student!, not because they didn't have an opening but because she has Dyslexia. They said she is a set up for failure. That doesnt sound very compassiaonate nor very Christian. Even though she works extremely hard to overcome her learning disability I guess they feel she may require extra effort in the future and they are not willing to do that,. Their only interest is in collecting money as effortlessly as possible.

Wonderful School! My daughter moved here from a well regarded public high school which was unfortunately not meeting our families expectations... So, we decided to move her to BCS and she is doing phenomenal! She loves the personalized instruction and caring environment. This school has been a blessing for our daughters future and our family!

My daughters, ages 5 and 9 attend BCS. What a blessing this school has been to our entire family! The teachers are outstanding, the administration wonderful to work with and the atmosphere is like no other school I've seen. We moved here from the midwest and had several private Christian schools to choose from. We chose BCS because of strong academics, Christ-centered teaching and a warm family atmosphere. My girls are excited to go to school each day and I leave them feeling so thankful that they are in a safe, nurturing environment. They are happy when I pick them up each day, which is music to this mom's ears! This is a very special school.

Academic rigor, though much better than the public schools, is still weak in my opinion. Text books are horrible but I am told that they have to use the same as public schools. The teachers, for the most part, are competent and caring. They take an interest in the students and do well with what they have in the way of teaching materials. The administration is very weak and has, in my opinion, significant ethics problems.

Bayshore is an outstanding school. Teachers are excellent and the leadership is strong. The student body is diverse and all students, no matter what their ethnic or economic background are accepted and encouraged as part of the Bayshore family. High school students are challenged and successful in their college careers. Bayshore has been a blessing to my family!

I've know bayshore my entire life and i still can't describe it. I went there in pre-K, elementary, middle school, and high school.. I loved the fact that it's small. It allows every kid to get attention, no one is left out. It's almost like an extended family. On the flip-side however, it's true about the the favoritism shown towards the 'rich kids'. Bayshore is very ego driven and likes to take credit for things that certain families, ones with longstanding history at the school, do for the school. I know this firsthand. My time at Bayshore is something I will remember forever, but nowadays it's a joke. Every year there's a new principal, the good teachers are getting fired, and the school is too strict on the kids. the teachers care, half the administration doesn't. Don't be fooled, especially if you're not religious. but overall its good

As a parent of two students who graduated from Bayshore, I can highly recommend this school. It has excellent academic standards and curriculum through every grade, K3 - 12, and there is a strong 'family' focus on every grade level. Thanks to the dual enrollment and AP classes on campus, my children were fully prepared to be successful in college and one even completed his degree in three and a half years. My family loves Bayshore, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring, challenging Christian education.

My son attended high school and loved the baseball program. He had a hard time adjusting like any one changing schools but made friends and had two great years.

A year ago, I could not of ever imagined sending my kids anywhere else. BCS was like an extended part of the family. Fast forward a year and I can't get my son out of there fast enough. He learned to read in K4. The K5 teacher brought out the best of every child. He loved going everyday in 1st and wrote the best little stories. 2nd has been a joke! Fill in the blank worksheets and tests. He has never strung together more than two sentences. He is going to need tutoring just to attend public school next year. The kids are allowed to yell and push each other. BCS has earned a reputation of sacrificing the good kids in the attempt to rehabilitate the bad. Well, they earned it! Many 'affluent ' families have left because of this. Big finanical problems. Sorry BCS, You dissapointed me.

My daughter is a first year kindergarten (K-5) student. The community at the school is so wonderful. She has a great teacher that is so good with the children I swear that she must be a Jedi as I've never seen anybody get a room full of children to quiet down with nary a word being spoken. The parent community is awesome as well. A parent just hosted a party for all parents from all the pre-school classes K2-K5. The party was very nice and was open to all, regardless of socio-economic status. The parents here just have such a commitment to their children and each other it is so wonderful. A new principal was just hired and his leadership is amazing. He is bringing good things here that will allow BCS to be one of the best schools in the state!

My child has attended BCS for the past 5 years. We have seen a a change in the way the school has been run, as well as a drastic shift in the overall system. It has been somewhat disappointing. With several headmaster changes, it has affected the overall school performance and attitude. The current administration is not teacher friendly and placates parents. Per several other comments, there is favoritism displayed blantantly towards certain families with a higher income level. They do lack extracurricular activities, with pre/post school care programs not at the level they should be. The lunches still need improvement. Yes, you donate or participate in fundraisers (1 per quarter) but most schools execute these same types of activities. There are some excellent teachers that provide education. The K4, K5 and 2nd grade teachers are incredible. We will not enroll our child next year at BCS.

I have been a teacher in both public and private schools for the last 20 years. I taught at Bayshore School for 5 years while my own children were attending. Never have I worked with such loving, caring and committed teachers and personnel! My hat goes off to all of you who continue to touch the lives of those you serve and for serving such an AWESOME God!

I graduated from Bayshore in 2001, after attending the school from kindergarten on up. What a blessing this school is! I am now planning on enrolling my 5 year old stepdaughter at the school. This will guarantee her a solid education with strong values and Biblical knowledge. I love BCS!

I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old attending Bayshore currently. Compared to Providence Christian School in Brandon, this school is fantastic! The teachers are awesome and my children LOVE to go to school. Yes, they do ask for money a lot, and do lots of fund raisers, but what school doesn't do that....

I've gone to Bayshore since pre-school. I am about to graduate high school now. I left during middle school, but eventually came back. Why did I come back? Simply because BCS has a good, family environment, great teachers that genuinely care, amazing sports and school spirit, and yes, you also get a good education. Many students, like myself, have taken part in Dual Enrollment and AP courses. I would never want to graduate from anywhere else. except college. :)

Bayshore Christian School is the best place to send your child for preschool. Two of my children have gone to the preschool and all read at age 4. My two year old will begin the preschool program next year.

I did not like this school at all. I went here for the eighth grade and trust me, this school is not for kids who want to do anything extra-curricular. 'New Kids' are alienated and picked on. Favoritism among teachers, terrible lunch program, lack of money, and terrible social environment are just a few of the problems this school has.
