Pride became an A rated school largely due to the numerous stay at home moms who were willing to roll up their sleeves and help. What a shame that the principal chooses to not allow moms with toddlers to help in the school. Pride was once a wonderful school and will be again... I am going to hang on through the year, then, like many others, I will move on if need be.
Attended a pre-k meetiing. Very impressed. They treated us how a school should treat a parent concerned with their kid's first year.
Pride Elementary is a great school. Even though is very new, the teachers are wonderful. My son had some trouble at the beginning of the year with reading and the teachers and counselor were very cooperative!
Parent involvement is huge in this school. The academics are pushed greatly and the kids follow accordingly.
This school only focuses on the bonus administration will get from the scores. No on seems to realize they are teaching young children, not adults. No one would give a tour of the school, and children arent given any social time. By far, the leasting rewarding school we have ever attended. Dont go here! Also, 43 children in one fourth grade class - just a little bit too much!
I have been very dissappointed with Pride Elementary School. I was looking for a warm and nuturing environment for my children. The philosophies are very 'test' driven. There focus is on maximizing instructional time. There is no recess and very little time given to the children to socialize. It took a long time for my son to meet new friends after we made the move from California. I must say, however, most of the teachers are wonderful and very dedicated men and women. My issues really is with the Administration. I feel like the school is run like a business and not like a school. Test results are all important.
The teacher ratio for kindergarden is higher then where I come from. They also would not give us a tour of the school.
