I graduated from Heritage Elementary School in 2008 and i am now entering High school. I enjoyed Heritage very much, as did my parents, they found that the teachers would work with you as long as you were willing to work with them. While I attened Heritage I had the same principal until 5th Grade when she relocated. I'm not sure how the new principle is handling Heritage but if shes(or hes) anything like the old one then Heritage should still be a school that works with the students so that they can acheive and surpass their potential. Go Bobcats!
THIS SCHOOL IS ONE OF THE BEST MY KIDS HAVE BEEN IN, THE STAFF ARE SO SWEET AND VERY HELPFUL THEY ARE ALL DOING A GREAT WORK IN NOT ONLY THE KIDS AT SCHOOL BUT AT HOME WITH THE FAMILY THEY SEE A FAMILY IN THE COMMUNITY INNEED AND HELP, THEY PUT THE KIDS FIRST AND I SO THANK THEM FOR THIS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
We moved from Alberta Canada and I find this school to be equally as diverse and welcoming to students from other countries. Teachers and admin staff are very accommodating and friendly. The school facility is safe and well maintained. My daughter says good things about her new teacher and she always has nice stories about her whole day in the school.
My son fels safe and ejoys his teacher!
My son attends Heritage Elementary school and has Mrs. Berschauer as his teacher. After nine years in the Army, I recently got out. Because of the military, my two boys have attended no less than 12 schools in the last five years. I am also finishing up a divorce an my son lives with his mom. I bring all this up, because I have never had the pleasure of meeting a teacher like Mrs. Berschauer. I contacted her a few weeks into the school year, because my divorce led to a lack of communication about school between my ex-wife and I. Since that time, I have been impressed more and more with each passing week. From my first contact, Mrs. B began sending me weekly updates on everything from how my son was doing to every activity that takes place in the classroom. I wish there was more room to write.
My niece attends this school and so do all her friends. They could not imagine a better school atmosphere. It is very diverse. There are children from all over the world. The student teacher ratio is the lowest in Tampa and children receive lots of extra attention. P.S. if you are racist you should look elsewhere this schools is packed with Indians, Africans, Arabs, Chinese, and Hispanics, along with a equal number of Caucasians and African Americans. It is very diverse in a very well to do neighborhood and is only at 50% capacity.
This school has a great open door policy with the VP, however there seems to be a breakdown when it comes to the teachers. The campus is beautiful, the teachers are friendly but there is some sort of breakdown when it comes to the academic portion.
My daughter loves her school. We moved here at the beginning of the year and my daughter started Kindergarten at Heritage. We have loved it from the beginning. She has had caring teachers who want to see her excel. No overcrowding whatsoever like some nearby schools. They do not push the kids like other schools esp just to achieve higher test scores. I am a frequent volunteer and I see her teacher encouraging kids from all levels of learning. It is a very positive school and if given the choice, would choose NOT to leave this school.
We have two children at Heritage and have been there from when they opened the doors in 2003. It is a great school with room to grow no over crowded classrooms. The teachers and staff are great and encourage parent envolvement.
We moved from West Palm Beach last August and were hesitant on the Public School as my daughter was starting Kindergarten and had been rated gifted. While Palm Beach County has full time gifted programs for Kindergarten, Hillsborough County does not have any type of similar program for Kindergarten. However, at Heritage Elementary, my daughter's teacher and the Guidance Counselor worked towards creating a challenging and complete program for my daughter so that she takes some advanced lessons while still maturing, learning and growing with her age group. Her teacher has only been great and done so much for all her classroom, the school organizes great family events and programs. We are very happy with what Heritage Elementary is providing to our community.
