What a fantastic school! Great electives, after school activities and fun! Communication could be better between the school and parents, but my daughter is LOVING going to school. How many kids going to middle school say that? They really care about the students and it shows!
Dear Ms. Logan, I want to thank you and your staff for the wonderful education you provided for my son Joe. He has received the best tutelage possible. If it was not for your school he would have been forced to go to an inferior school. We have been through this with him before and also seen the difference when we took him out and put him in a better school. The difference is night and day. If you need any recommendations from me or my wife, we would be glad to oblige. God bless you and your staff. -Joe and Patti
My grandson Cameron , who lives with me has just completed three great years at LLT Academy. He graduated on June 8th 2011. Its hard to express what a wonderful experience Cameron had while attending LLT Academy . He has matured and developed in so many ways during this time. The teachers at LLT have been understanding and have devoted so much to this developmental period of Cameron s life. I would also like to commend the administration for selecting this staff and being so supportive of them. I doubt that Cameron will ever have another school experience like this. The everyday guidance and caring has made a lasting impression on both of us.
A safe, small, caring environment where students thrive. I have had three children attend 6-8th grades at LLT Academy and we LOVED our middle school experience. Our children were challenged academically and they grew in character. The teachers are amazing and truly care about the students. Several teachers offered free tutoring. We love LLT and are thankful for the entire staff and how they invested in our children.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL, especially if your child needs any type of individualized education or has any medical needs. Our experience sending our child here has been horrific at best. They have a "private school" mindset when it comes to accommodating any physical or developmental disabilities, while they are a fully public charter school. There are some great teachers and staff here, but the administration changed this year, and the school has gone downhill since. We will not be returning, or sending our other child here; we hate to think of any other child going through what ours has, this year. Either the board needs to hire new administrators, or this school needs to lose their charter--that's how bad it is. We hope they will make some drastic changes to get back on track.
My oldest son attends this school -- this is his second year. The environment at LLT is one of caring with a focus on academics that is second to none. I will definitely be sending my other children to this school. The teachers and the administration work together and create a family-like environment. My son tells me all the time how happy he is that he didn't go to our local designated middle school.
My daughter attended LLT For 6th, 7th and 8th grades. She had three banner years and was awarded LLT's Leadership award in 8th grade. She is now at a district high school where she is one of 69 students out of over 2,000 students to receive straight 'A's in both academics and conduct. She was also one out of two students to receive the highest grade on a 9th grade essay writing test. The other student who received the highest grade also went to LLT for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. LLT prepares students not only with excellent character, but also academically. Five stars for LLT!!!
My son left the Redlands at 5 years old ,not able to even say mom or Dad.Today I was told he was 1 of only 3 kids to obtain a perfect score in reading.LLT Acadamy is a great school.Thank you to all teachers. You deserve the best.
We were psyched about this school last year but now that we are in...we are questioning our decision. Communication between parents and teachers is horrible and the principal seems to have no idea what is going on with the students. The only communication we get right away has to do with money and fundraising. We are not sure that our child has been prepared for FCAT at all. If we need to talk to a teacher about trouble our son is having, it seems like they don't want to hear it or want to point the finger somewhere else.
I rated this school last year and gave it 5 stars- now only 2... that reflects clearly upon how rapidly conditions have declined. Our child went to this school for 2 years and loved the first one. Unfortunately, the principle, Mr. Miller, had a family emergency and had to leave the state. Following that change in administration, the school has been in a tail-spin.
My child loves this school! She is very happy at school and never wants to miss a day even if she is sick. The teachers are great and very caring. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It is small enough that everyone knows everyone.
i am a parent of two students in llt academy.. one in the charter high the other in the academy.. i love to see them coming back home talking about what they did in school.. and how the teachers are so awesome.. unlike in public school they didnt want to really talk about what went on that day!...
This was my son's first year at LLT. He had a great nurturing environment. It is a family there. The teachers are quick to email the parents with any questions. The parents get quick responses from the teachers. They take a genuine interest well beyond the academics of their students. Parent volunterism is very high
I have a son and daughter attending LLTA. I am so happy with the school and their progress at LLT Academy. The smaller campus makes a smoother transaction from elelmentary to middle school. The teachers my children have had are excellent to above excellent. The ONLY thing I can complain about is the fact that it is over 20 miles to get to school ... BUT worth every mile! Carpools are wonderful!
Great teachers and involved staff - they are getting more activities. I love this school and am happy with the academics, too. I cannot believe the C - but they teach, not teach to the FCAT. Also, there are some kids who struggle but they don't turn them away. My child is in advanced classes and they are great at every level. I give this school an ' A ' - I wish all our schools were like this. Good environment for students to - they educate and hold them accountable - very little trouble here - my child is a 'good kid' and for the most part loves the fact that she can learn here and not be held back by discipline problems in her class.
LLT is my second home. I can't wait for summer to end so I can be there with great teachers who love to help. The tutoring and personal time they give us is really encouraging! LLT is about teamwork and character- which they make time for in every lesson. The staff always has an extra hand or ear anytime you happen to need it! The only thing I have had a problem with the past three years of being there was transportation, and the lunch area. It was always very difficult to fight the crowd to either pick up, buy, or heat up your lunch. It was nearly impossible! But every school has there issues! Overall: LLT Academy is the best school I have ever been in, and I am so happy they have a High School, so I can continue to excel there!
My child has attended LLT since it opened in '05. We are thrilled with the environment and teacher involvement. The teachers and administration do everything possible to help all of their students become well rounded, educated, mature teens of excellent character. I have been impressed with the 'extra mile' consistently displayed by teachers - tutoring, discipline, and simply taking an interest in the 'daily drama' that is middle school. My child knows at any time she can approach several of her teachers for support and guidance. I am thrilled to have her in a school where she is cared about almost as much as she is at home. A note to parents with undisciplined kids: don't expect this - or any school - to raise your child. Your involvement in their lives is crucial. I have never heard of an unresolved complaint from an involved parent. Bottom line: They care!
I have taught in different capacities and truly feel blessed to have found a school where I am allowed to actually teach! There are no FCAT workbooks to adhere to and yet our students do well every year on the test. The teachers work together and truly are family. Our students are an extension of that family as are their families. We have some of the best parents a school could ask for, they are always willing to go the extra mile. We are successful because of the gifts and talents they bring to the table. As a school of character we teach our students the imporatance of fairness, trustworthiness, caring, citizenship, respect, and responsibility. Our curriculum is cutting edge, we utilize technology in innovative ways, and our teachers are hired on the basis that they engage in the teaching process. I love this school. could not imagine being anywhere else.
My son transferred from another middle school to LLT and it was the best decision we ever made. His grades improved, his self esteem improved, and he actually started the day wanting to go to school. Middle school can be one of the most difficult periods in child's life but LLT helped make it a wonderful experience for my son. Thanks LLT!
The classes taught are the same as in a public school. They are inconsistent with disciplining others, the offer no support or ways to better yourself to children who consistently get themselves in trouble. Some of the teachers really do care about the kids and work very hard at what they do!
