Our family is very pleased with this school. The whole staff is very caring and they have good communication. The have some nice after school programs and have a fair amount of field trips and parties. The Friday fun days, they call communiy day, Are a great way to bring the electives in. Fridays have things like art, cooking, drama, music, sewing, kayaking, gardening, games. My child is very happy. They Are k- 12th grade which is really nice.

The school is amazing - I have a special needs child who is behind in learning, but can absorb details, memorize information and read very well. His math skills are really behind by 5 or more years, and he struggles with the basic math ski lls. Solid Rock has been able to put him in the level math classes he needs, as well as place him in reading/english at the higher level he is at the same time. It's a win win situation, because he is learning at the level/speed that he needs and the results are very positive! I am amazed on a daily basis how much he is learning now, that he is properly placed. The school is amazing and I cannot express how much we love it. I HIGHLY recommend Solid Rock if you are thinking about a new school - Check it out!

Solid Rock Community School has been an absolute blessing for our son and has changed our family for the better. At 12 years old this is his 3rd school and before we found Solid Rock his spirit was all but broken. This is the first place that he truly feels he belongs, that he fits in. The teachers here are amazing. They know and appreciate each child for who they are and do not try and change them into someone that they are not. The teachers have a true passion and enthusiasm, not only for what they are teaching but who they are teaching. Solid Rock is like a family and everyone, including the administrative staff, is positively involved in the growth and development of the children. These kids are happy and at home. The Solid Rock Community is also continuing to create more and more opportunities for the kids to be exposed to. There are sports, after school clubs, special events and ceremonies and the list of choices continues to grow. We are so happy at Solid Rock and feel so very fortunate to have found it!

This is my son's first year at Solid Rock Community School. He has been to both public and private schools in the past. Thus far, I am most impressed with this school. The teachers actually have degrees in the subjects they teach! I love the structure of their curriculum. A lot of thought and preparation has gone into structuring the daily schedule to maximize learning. They have an amazing football team and a large amount of teenagers in the high school grades! We are so glad we found them! Thank you Solid Rock!

I absolutely give Solid Rock Community School 5 Stars! The skill level based learning style with the multi modal teaching approach make this school a fit for any child! Both of my children thrive at this school and are learning leaps and bounds above children in their age group in public schools. The focus on "community" throughout the school is unparalleled by any other private school. I encourage everyone who wants more for their child to call and set up a tour as soon as possible. This school has changed our lives and I believe it can do the same for you.

An all around GREAT school that cares! They focus on children with learning disabilities, or those who may need a little extra attention. Life savers!

SRCS has been an excellent learning facility for my children. It provides a nurturing environment with its low teacher-to-student ratio that is offered.

I love working at Solid Rock. I think the administration and teachers are really caring and friendly. The students are amazing and the way they are placed by skill level makes teaching a class much more realistic and possible for academic success. We dont have bullies and student related problems like most schools, we are more like a big family. The atmosphere is really non-threatening and happy.

My daughter has been to 3 schools and we are finishig our 1st year with Solid Rock. Our experience has been better then anywhere else. We have been to the public schools and private college prep schools and there is no comparison with how Solid Rock does things. They put a lot of heart and time into the kids that I have not experienced elsewhere.

This is my sons' third year attending Solid Rock Community School and what a difference it has made! When we first came to this school my older son was to the point where every morning was a fight to get him up and ready for school. My younger son would not even attempt any type of creative writing. Through the "Educating Out of The Box" education style that Solid Rock offers to children, they have both grown academically and socially by leaps and bounds and are excited and confident to move forward both academically and socially.

My 6 year old son has Autism and was enrolled in the ESE Pre-K program from the age of 3 at our local public school. When it was time for him to leave the ESE Pre-K department we were very concerned how he would handle the transition. Mainstreamed and Inclusion Kindergarten was very hard and he regressed. After a month he was pulled back full time to a Self-Contained K-2 class. My husband and I learned about Solid Rock Community School and were thrilled to hear they were breaking ground on a new Autism Program. We decided that we would try SRCS for a year to see if it helped our son come out of his setback. Our 6 year old is independently doing all his work during the day. His handwriting has greatly improved and he started drawing again simply because he likes to. The teacher Ms Julie Ann has been amazing with him, as well as the others in his class. All of the children with Autism are making gains at Solid Rock. Our 6 year old has always cycled up and down with behavior, speech and skills. Amazingly he has not had a setback all year and is talking more now than ever! I feel this is because of God and the Solid Rock difference.

My 7 year old son is typical with mild speech issues and he is also doing so well at Solid Rock. The low student to teacher ratio 1:10 has really helped. He no longer has to be pulled for 1:1 help like he did at our public school. SRCS runs on skill level so he is in 2nd grade but is taking a 3rd grade Language Arts and a 1st grade math. Most of his classes only have 7 kids, all at the same skill level, so the teachers are able to really teach! We love that he is getting a solid education and is truly learning and enjoying it too. Learning at his skill level has removed so much frustration and fear of learning. Both my boys are attending SRCS with the help of the McKay scholarship. My husband and I feel so blessed that the opportunity to send our children to such a wonderful school was made available to our family.

I have 2 children at Solid Rock Community School. Both have very different needs, but I have seen the school try to meet their individual needs this year. There have been some bumps along the way. There is no perfect school because they are run by people and people are imperfect. I can tell you from my personal experience that the administration of this school has a heart for helping children who don't necessarily fit in anywhere else. The principal of the school has developed a priceless personal relationship with both of my children, helping them to find their niche at Solid Rock. The other admin are eager to meet with me at any time to discuss and make adjustments to fit my children's academic, emotional and social needs. If you are considering Solid Rock for your child, please make your decision based on facts not the disgruntled comments of others.

I have worked in Public Education (special ed) for 5 years. I quit because I could no longer tolerate they way the children were herded into VE classrooms because they couldn't behave in general ed. I watched so many bright students fall through the cracks. a I am now about to start my 4th year with Solid Rock and I keep coming back because of the magic that happens here every year. Every year I have worked here I have personally witnessed child after child who was beat down in public school or just couldn't keep up with being passed to the next level without master come to SRCS and blossom. Children who were way behind in math or reading jumping 2 or more grade levels. A 6 year olds knowing what a Cetacean is, where it lives, and what it eats. That's why I love SRCS.

My children have been in Solid Rock for two years. Their staff and teachers are patient and friendly. The negative posts can be traced to a disgruntled employee and former family which the school is in process of dealing with legally. They should be ashamed to try and harm the reputation of a school that really is such a benefit to so many. Go see for yourself and make your own decision.

This school is great. I would not send my children to any other school. This year there has been a few minor set backs but they are working really hard to get back up to speed.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
