Liberty Christian Academy

Before posting my comments, I read through all previous reviews. The one thing that stands out is that this school has improved. The staff and administration has come a long way for the better. As humans, we are three dimensional with body, soul, and spirit. While academics is the prime reason for this education, it is no less important to nourish your spirit and body as well. While not perfect, the school does provide for physical exercise, and also has Christ-centered biblical training for the spirit. Academically, my children were "fully reading and writing" 2/3's way through kindergarten; and with parental support, behaving extraordinarily well. The one in 2nd grade now can read fluently (barring special names) from the King James Version of the Bible, which many adults admittedly have difficulty with. For the reasons herein, I believe the school deserves at least four stars. I will recommend it.

My kids are in 2nd and 4th grade and been going to Liberty for 2 years now. They love this school and so do myself and their father. Would recommend it to anyone!

I am a student and have been a student at Liberty for my whole life. I must say that it is very excellent. Execellance is demanded there simply because they know that it is available. The staff is family. They actually know your name, and it is a great enviroment for your teenagers my age to socialize. Not only the faculty, but the student body, as a whole, is family. It truely is a great place to go to and i am glad that my parents made the smart choice of keeping me here. and a quick note to the parents concerning education levels..your kids do not apply themselves. I know because i am a student and i know how it goes. Just because your student does not have a proper role model to follow does not mean that you can take your anger out on the school. It's quite ridiculous.

My children started at Liberty 14 years ago. I have seen so many kid's over the years want to get out of LCA to go to public schools they do this by not applying themselves! My daughter did exactly that when she was in the 9th grade and it worked. I can honestly say that was the biggest mistake we made, she told us that we should have never removed her from Liberty her daughter now attends LCA. My youngest has been there since Kindergarten he is now a junior. He just took his CPT test and his scores were Reading he needed an 82 and his score was a 99, Sentence Skill's he needed an 83 and his score was a 97, Math he needed a 72 and his score was 104. LCA is the only school he has ever attended it is a great school!!

First year my son has attended, and I must say I am not impressed. As a matter of fact I am fairly 'De'pressed with the situation I have placed my son in. Other schools seem to be more advanced in their studies, reading and math. My son is learning how to write cursive. Impressive to a point, but I would rather him begin reading at school. My wife and I teach reading at home, but I would like to see it taught at LC as well. My tru feeling is that LC is more concerned about the money I pay than they do my son's education. Daily, he is given projects that are below his level. To tell the truth, he is bored with the programs. LC needs to challenge the kids more and be not so concerned with funding. Parents pay a lot and deserve more for their children.

Administration and teachers are great. I have two children attending and they have been for five years. The changes that have been made over the last two years have been extrordinary. The teachers care about the kids welfare and education.

I am a parent of two children at Liberty. They have been students for five years now. I have seen the administrative and teaching staff transition from one seeking to achieve a level of excellence to one that has pretty much achieved that level of excellence. The administrator is on the ball, she is a great model to the students and she knows what she is doing. The teaching staff is the best I have ever seen it and the teachers care about the students. They want the students to enjoy learning. Their goal is for each student to master the mateiral, not just to pass them on to the next grade. There is a huge difference between two years ago and this year. If you are considering Liberty as a new paernt or as one coming back, I encourage you to check it out.

I am a parent of one current student and one former student. We enrolled our children in the school during middle school with the intention of keeping them there through all of their school years, but when our oldest child reached high school we pulled him out due to academic concerns. We felt he was not challenged at all academically. We are probably not going to send our youngest back next year either due to the poor leadership at the school and the poor quality of teachers. It seems as though the administration majors on the minors rather than focusing on the areas that they should have the most focus on. For instance they are constantly concerned about minor issues such as jackets worn at school. I would definitely not recommend this school.

I have been going to this school my entire life, and I am ready to leave. LCA has a somewhat confusing curriculum and has poor office and staff. This will be my last year attending this school because of it's poor status. They do not offer good extra-curricular activities, nor do they have good discipline. My mom agrees with me 100% as well!

My children will not be attending Liberty next year. The worst leadership from a principal I've experienced. No discipline. I have been in the public school environment and in comparison think that my concerns with Public schools are the same at Liberty but have to pay money for one. Christian environment I guess would be the one benefit, but I give that to my children and I wanted my kids to benefit from a safe, controlled environment to be educated in and you won't get that at Liberty. It is the most inexpensive private school in Lake County. and I guess you get what you pay for. Very disappointed and only hope that my children don't have too much of a struggle academically next year transitioning into a higher expectation school.
