I had two children and the education was great. The problem came with communication between the teacher and the us. We were restricted from trying to find out what our children was learning. We volenteered for everything and was never contacted to allow us to help out.
St. Teresa's is a fabulous school. The preK program is the only acedemic based preK in Brevard County. The Principal knows the name of every student. The school focuses on the child's academic and spirit needs. I can not comment on sports but I can say when our son attended high school in California all his extra curricular activites cost us out of pocket and mandatory volunteerism. This was a public school. St. Teresa's gets my vote 100%. It's a fabulous learning environment.
STS has a great pre K. K3 and K4 and takes Florida VPK vouchers. The class sizes are small. They pay attention to detail. The K3 and K4 are not just another daycare. They do early child development for even as young as k3 and k4. Also, the price is less than you would pay for daycare. The class rooms are very large in actual space so kids are not in crowded cramped conditions like I had seen when exploring my options with others in the Titusville area. I also liked the fact the rooms where very well lit with natural sunlight. The school has a very quaint atmosphere and does not feel like you are in an institutional environment. All in all it has been a thumbs up experience.
I was a student there for 9 years of my life and I know what the education is like 1st hand. Let me just say that STS is a fantastic school. It's tough and hard on homework. Their discipline is strict and the science fairs are brutal, but it has prepared me for high school, college, and beyond. Every class I take I do well in because St. Teresa's prepared me for it. And I mean EVERY class. Send your children there. It will seem too difficult emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, (and financially too), but trust me. It's all worth it. I really miss that school.
It provide a great and sound education for our youth.
St. Teresa School has a first rate academic program and an excellent teaching, administration and support staff. Parent involvment is highly encouraged as it should be as a parent is a childs first teacher. Extracurricular activities are available, however they are not center stage, academics come first. Extracurricular activities do require extra fees, which are small. Personally I am not aware of any school private or public where a fee is not needed to participate in a quality extracurricular activity. We have been extremely happy with St. Teresa's and hope to enjoy many more years there with our school family.
Tuition constantly goes up up up. Does not include many extra added fees and mandatory fundraisers throughout year. At first appearance academics are on target but as you progress through the school, many are severly lacking. Extracurricular is limited. Any extra sports cost a good deal extra and is run by volunteers, most are poorly organized. Parent involment is 100 percent, its compulsary with volunteer hours that must be met or purchased. Was disappointed in administration down to teacher level. New leadership recently in place instead of improving its degraded.
St. Teresa School has an excellent program educationally and the teachers work well with the parents to enhance your child's success in school and in life. The teacher's keep you informed early if there are any problems which I appreciate. The parental involvement at St. Teresa is way above that of other schools we've attended.
