this school is alright but if you want youre children here they better be prepared to work if youre child is a sports kid do not come

This is a self-paced school. Your child has to be self-motivated and driven. The curriculum is all online. With this, there is an opportunity to advance through high school quickly. It is kind of like Florida Virtual with guidance. The instructors are not there to teach. They are there to answer questions and guide the way a parent would for homeschool. My daughter is thriving!! She is a sophmore and she is taking college classes for free as part of her day. Great school for college-minded, mature students.

Three directors in three years. Constant turn over of staff. I believe that says it all. The poorest 504 plan ever written for my child. Staff acting like they are the student's friend instead of their instructor. Disappointing at the least.

When I drop my daughter off in the morning for school I know that she is going to be challenged academically throughout the day. When I pick her up in the afternoon, she is excited to tell me of her successes and also her challenging moments. The teachers here are first rate! They keep the students engaged and propel them to the next level. My daughter is in 9th grade and this year passed graduation exams on the first try and did wonderful on her math exams. There are a lot of choices at this school such as internships, classes and volunteering outside of school. The principal and other leadership are always around and have an open door policy. I feel very blessed to have been able to send my daughter to Newpoint where she has done very well academically, socially and emotionally.

The staff is underqualified for the positions they are being put in. A short supply of teacher's means that each teacher attempts at teaching an average of 4 different curriculums. No one can possibly adequately prepare to teach so many different subjects within the course of a single school day, especially without a planning period. They have put their money in all the wrong places, such as buying comfy chairs that were torn up within a month after receiving them, and purchasing IPads for each classroom when our main source of schooling that comes from the Apex Learning Curriculum isn't even supported on the IPad. Consistency is the absolute worst part about this school. Their is a noticeable double standard for students who may seem to be socially inept compared to those who could be categorized as "the cool kids". Also, the school has found a way to save money by cutting certain staff positions such as a front office assistant and a cafeteria worker, and instead they have students completely running these jobs. Newpoint would like to call these "internships", but it is easy to see the real motives behind this fa ade that the Newpoint administration puts up.

As a dual enrolled student they failed to pay for my child's books, and $171.20 was paid out of our pocket. The college refused to send her transcripts because there was a hold on her account. When this issue was brought to the administration and guidance counselor, they did nothing. Do not enroll your child here!
