Vernon High School

Small town rural schools are not high excelling schools I would not recommend this school for bright and talented students that are seeking high quality life style. Small town rural schools have small town rural teachers with limited education and information.

ive been going to vhs for almost four years now, and its the same. its changed vernon used to be a very good place for students to go...now students just dont want to go to school... its basically a place where (i beleive) only want to find out everyones business... i feel like when i go to school it aint for my benefit its for the teachers except a few i know love doing there job but others differently...

I am a proud graduate of Vernon High School and my own daughter will be a graduate of VHS as well this year. As for the quality of academic programs offered at this school, VHS has a very professional and well educated staff that goes above and beyond their means to make sure that each individual student gets a proper education needed to further themselves in their own lives. The principal, Dr. Bobbie Dawson, makes it a point to get to know each student by name and to make sure that everyone gets the same opportunities no matter what there individual circumstances are. Along with this she makes sure that the school and students are disciplined to the extent of what is necessary to function smoothly. This school offers many extracurricular activities for the students to choose from, that will help them become more rounded to enhance their own personalities. The level of parent involvement can be improved in most or all of our schools. If more parents would get involved, not only would the students benefit, but the school and staff would as well. I personally am a proud alumna of Vernon High School and I know that my daughter will be one also.
