This school is amazing! Starting with the principle all the way down to the last employee. This is our son's third year and we are so please with how he has developed scholastically and socially. The gifted program is awesome, and unlike any other we have ever heard of. My son has been with the same core teachers for the whole three years at T.E. Weightman Middle school.. The teachers are tough and caring of our children while always striving to prepare them to their best abilities for high school and college. Mrs. A Rocks! and is top notch in our books, tough an nails, stern as a drill sergeant and caring as if our son was hers. My son has and always will have a great respect and love for Mrs. "A"
I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with this school. My daughter has advanced math and her writing class has helped her grow. She is on the honor roll every year and that is due to the teaching. The teachers are wonderful. If there is anything negative to say, it would be the students' behavior. You will find that being a negative in every school. Especially because they are teenagers. So overall, I would recommend this school to anyone.
My daughter is proud to call this her school. Starting with the staff, continuing on with the teachers, and ending with the students. No one is perfect but this still should get credit for my daughters progress. She is an honor student and loves this school. She gets along with everyone and she already talks about missing the school and the friends she's made there.
TEWMS is awesome. I mean everything is in our best interest. the teacher also try their best to help us succeed and get A's. I love it here!
This school is amazing. I really love all the teachers and staff there. They teach superbly. The Gifted Program is really advanced and clear to understand. Go Ms A, Ms T, and Mr A! =]
My son's accelerated math class and his challenging science class 'force' him to work and study. I love it! P.S. I noticed that TEWMS raised their FCAT Writes+ scores...and really beat lots of other counties.
I''ve had the opportunity to talk and fax people at this school.. I live out of town.. and they were so careful to protect information about my granddaughter.. Hats off to you.. Staff at Weightman Middle School.. for protecting the children there.. My inquirey was on the up and up. but you did your job well.. Children at this school must be blessed to have staff who take their safety and privacy seriously.. God Bless them.. thanks for protecting my granddaughter grade 7
My son is in his second year at Weightman. I find the teachers to be skilled, approachable, and to genuinely care about a students education. Whenever I had a question or concern regarding any issue, the teachers have always been quick to communicate and willing to resolve the issue.
This is an amazing school! I moved in the when it was Spring Break, but I really miss Weightman... Weightman was my favorite school, and all of the teachers are such great people! No other school is better, in my opinion of course. I just graduated, and I am in High School now, and I really do miss the outstanding life of Weightman life.
I went here for middle school just last year. Those years TEWMS had their population higher then some high schools. Now with JLMS and WRHS the popualtion a[nd] bus issues should be over. Some great teachers, some not so great. Fights were rare, but still hapen. Sports program is hands down best in the county. 13 football championships in 17 years (I played football) cheerleaders won nationals twice, basketball team normaly goes undefeated, vollyball and soccer are ok. track is great as well.
No after school program at all. Teachers seem to dislike their jobs and the children. There seems to be a lack of control at the school in areas of major concern. Testing results innacurate regarding student level of accomplishments. Requested student counseling was not available.
TEWMS is a great school. They have about ten or so clubs you can join that are during the day and you miss class and you have to make up the work you missed. I think that the teachers are very nice to everyone. If your in gifted than you get to choose more clubs to be in after school. 6th grade has the choice of Band or the Wheel. The Wheel has 4 things on it: Music, PE, Choir, and Art. You get 1 every quarter. Here at TEWMS the learning level is tremendous. It is a 5 star school. I don't really know the parent level involvement yet because I haven't been going to this school for very long. This is the best school ever.
I have had my child go to this school for 5 months now and she has not seemed to have learned anything. We are from up north and the curriculum is not challenging her at all. There is no homework sent home and the 2 week holiday was too long and too empty for a sixth grader. the school is nice looking but the content is not what I was looking for. It seems to be that way state wide There are no activities availabe to participate in until she goes into 7th grade. That's a whole year out without conditioning or training. I do as much as I can with the shcool, whenever posssible but there really isn't that much that goes on during the evening
I loved Weightman! It was the best school I've ever went to, and I've been to quite a few schools. I was challeged in the Gifted Program. I had great teachers. I just love it! It definitly deserves an 'A'!
The school is very nice, a problem with the rough kids tho, like the harsh - 'no tolerance' policy - office staff could be nicer to the parents... teachers and counselors are very helpful and friendly. Hard to get some teachers to correspond about child's status in class.
My main difficulty has been communication with teachers and administrative staff. I have left messages requesting call backs and either don't get them, or they call and leave messages a week later, causing a 'telephone tag' situation. I don't feel there is adequate media coverage through the school newsletters or local newspapers, of what is happening academnically and in extracurricular. I feel that the majority of families do not have a good sense of what is happening at school.
The cheerleaders at Weightman for 2003-2004 are outstanding! Great work girls! However, with Wesley Chapel High School right next door, I think that this school and the other surrounding schools should have a softball and baseball program. Overall, this school is outstanding!
I think that Weightman Middle is a a nice big envirerment for our children. Weightman has a nice library, good teachers, great gym, and has reasonable beginning and ending hours. Although my opinion is that the library should be open later because the kids don't have that much time to find his or her lexile scoring type of book.
