Imagine Schools at West Melbourne is a small, wonderful school under new leadership since July 2010. Our philosophy is to help parents educate their children. We serve families from PreK through 8th grade in our sparkling facility that opened in 2009. Uniforms are required and excellence is the standard. I personally love having my kids at River's Edge. I feel that they are recieving a better education then they would at any other public school in the county. They are both enrolled in tutoring for free this year, and I just love all of the extra curricular activities that are offered on the elementery school level, more than any other school. The other thing that I like is the required parent involvment and the way they do everything they can to make it possible(free aftercare etc.)
Rivers Edge Charter Academy is a good school. It offers hard working teachers and a supportive administration. The principal - Mr. Cole is a man of character and truly cares about the children and their well being. The school, the staff, the children and the parents are like a family. The school might not have alot of extra curricular activities, but they still provide many options that the children and parents can get involved in. Both my children played soccer, basketball, the step team, and the art club. They offer tutoring and enrichment activities for the children that need it. Overall it's a good school. They look out for you kids. Parent involvment is always welcomed. The school has even set up a parent corner just for us to go and check out what is going on, or if we need to talk to the staff. River's Edge Charter Academy allows parents to visit the school at any time if they have any type of concerns about their children's schoolwork. Parents can talk to the principal or the assistant principal anytime their is a concern or a problem with their child.Academically the school is A+ because truly no student is considered stupid or dumb, the teachers always make sure that the students are learning and the difference with this school than any other public schools the classroom is very small, so therefore the student get that one on one teaching. The students could use a little more extracurricular activities but the school is limited in playing field, but the school does offer soccer, basketball and football for now, both parents and teachers are very much involved.
I feel that the administration is lacking in doing thier jobs. Mr, Gibb's and Ms. Rice are great teachers and other than that you have said everything good about this school.
This school is great the children get one on one teacher help when needed and it is a bully free shcool and they mean it. Its a nice change.
