My child and my experience at this school has been memorable. There are ups and downs like any other school. The teachers are very supportive and so are the office staff. The school works really hard to teach the curriculum and positive and respective behavior. The staff have been there a long time and care about their students and what they do. I must also add that the students care about the faculty, too. I have no doubt that this school will continue to improve. No school is perfect. Bullies are in all schools. As parents we need to teach our children how to overcome these trials of adolescence as we did our own.
This school sucks so bad that when i got there it literally smelled like urine and the people at the main office were not nice at all. The whole school is a joke.
i went there glad im out though I could bullied everyday and the teachers dident care the asistant princeble was the only good one
I have had nothing but a positive experience with Seminole Trails Elementary. Ms. Poundstone has been my daughters teachers for 1st and now 3rd and I feel so lucky that she has such a caring teacher. The teachers really go above and beyond for the students. :)
My daughter was in K last year and had a fantastic teacher, Ms. K. She was wonderful with all the kids and taught them creatively. We requested her for my other child for this coming year, but it turns out the awful awful administrators-principal and asst principal-hadn't renewed her contract. My husband and I had heard the administrators we bad but didn't worry cause the teachers were so good and effective. Nearly all the K teachers have left the school voluntarily to get away from the administrators this year! I am so disappointed and wish Ms. K. All the best. Hopefully she will get to work in a better environment this year, but my child won't get the benefit of her caring creativity this year!
My son attended this school for a year and a half before I pulled him out to home school him. His teacher for kindergarten was fantastic, and the teacher he started off with for first grade was working with me. They switched his teacher with no notification and the problems began. The last week before I called it quits on the school, my son got sent home on the bus while I waited in the office for an after school meeting (for which he provided me with none of the information I requested), then let my son sit aside asking to use the restroom until he wet himself in front of the class. I registered my son for home school that day and took him out the very next day. From what I've heard, he's still teaching at the school and other parents took their children out as well.
This should not even be considered a school. Please shut this circus down for the safety of our children.
Revised copy: I have no compliants about the school . I'm the 1st teacher for my kids I'm involved in every area of their lives I don't depend on the school to teach my kids
While they claim to assist children with dissabilities, bear in mind that your child will be put in a lesser class if they have no where else to put them. It happened to mine. I cost me 1 year of his life and my job. So think twice before enrolling your kid here.
my daughter goes to this sschool she is in fourth grade and she love it!
My son has attended this school since second grade. Its nice to see that everyone at the school worked hard to earn an A grade. He told me that the assistant principal took time to teach kids about writing and wrote essays in the classroom. It is a hard working school.
Good school, great staff. They really care. The Vice Principal is wonderful - the kids love him!
I highly advise any parent with a child who has some type of mental disablity not to send their child to this school. If your child has behavoiral issues that your child has no control over due to their disabilty I highly advise any parnet not to send there child to this school. The principal she is very cold and dose not care about what your child has only that she thinks they have a behaorial problem. No matter how you try to explain what your child has it doesn't matter they do not care. The teachers have no educational back rounds on any type of mental disabilites to understand that student. They have no respect for these childern.
I think this is a good school. I like the enviroment for my child and he's thriving. As with any school the more Parental involvement the better.
Thi school was very diappointing. My child transferred in and after being acclimated to one teacher, he was suddenly moved to another teacher who had no experience teaching his grade level. This was a problem in that she was used to handling much younger children and couold not handle her class or this age group. Also, she did not communicate openly with us as parents regarding our child's progress or improvement plans. Additionally, the principal i a very cold woman who cares more about her authority and position than the academics and well being of the students. If you desire your child to learn and develop in an encouraging environment, this is definitely not the school to send your child.
My children are in 1st and 4nd grade and I found the academic programs to be good that my children where able to keep up with the school work. However, there are no extracurricular activities for children to be part of and that is very disappointing since our schools have taken out recess.
1. Cafeteria needs a change of management...to a professional, kind and respectfull towards children, teachers and parents. 2. School security is not available. Anyone can just walk in school and yet find some children by themselves been sent to the office and other messages. 3. Teachers need to be more aware of kids while at playground. 4. Administration needs to be more professional when dealing with parents, visitors and children at the front office.
Seminole Trails has a good academic program and does have music, art, computer classes and P.E. available for the children. The lunch selection is not that great so I suggest packing. The teachers are very qualified and have the kids best interest at heart.
The only complaint I have is the safety. They have the 2nd grade class in the portable buildings and these kids have to walk by the bus area, plus all of the gates are open and anyone can get in. There isn't enough supervision out there our anyone to help with the crossing of the street.
