I Have been going to this school for 3 years and all i can say is its a great learning environment. Discipline and respect are highly valued and the christian character is constantly being taught. There is no bullying to my knowledge and teachers show love and respect to every student regardless of their ethnicity.
Great School! Students and parents that get asked to leave will write bad reviews. Keep this in mind when choosing a school. Berean is as good as it gets.
Great school! Very happy with the teachers and staff.;) My teens are very happy, wish we started a long time ago.
My child has been attending Berean Christian Preschool for the past 3 years. I must say the teachers truly are Christ-like. In addition to the amazing teaching, they take the time to be sure each child's need is met and truly love each one. I'm looking forward to next year as my child moves on to the elementary portion of the school. There is a family atmosphere at the school and I like the fact that staff remember and call the students by name.
I picked Berean because they advertised as a christian school with a good academic record. Within a few months I realized what a big mistake that was. In general the 4 and 5 yr olds were treated like "little adults" not the children that they are. I was getting constant emails from the pre-k teacher that my daughter was looking at her classmates drawings instead of her own, sharing her snacks with other kids which is forbidden. Are these not typical behaviors of children ? I did not get a call though when they mistakenly left my child behind in her class by herself ,when all the others went to an event at another building, nor did I get a call or email to let me know that my child did not have a blanket for her cot at naptime for 5 consecutive days, because I made the mistake of not putting one in her cubby. It was my child that told me on the 5th day "i sleep cold everyday" . The teacher blamed her for not stating how cold she really was! They were punitive with the kids every chance and spent less time teaching nurturing. She "unlearned" her alphabet" while in attendance here, even though Berean's assessment indicated that she had mastered it. I am glad I took her out of there.
Good School, almost excellent, I don't have any complaints academically. My son which is autistic learned a lot thanks to their intensive program. After care hmm no the best. I heard some care givers yelling to little kids and intimidating them. Still my son loves this school way better than public in which he did not even want to get to the classroom. After he finished PRE-K he got his writing good enough and his reading too. They have good activities during the whole year and they try their best to make sure all kids learn. Thanks Berean
My children just finished their first year at Berean. I have one child in the elementary and two in the preschool. I am shocked at the reviews below. Our experience has been wonderful. My oldest child had one year in the public school system and it was miserable. The teachers are over worked and did not care about my child. Since entering Berean he has blossomed. His teacher truly cares about him and has pushed him beyond what I expected. The preschool staff is nurturing and loving. I love the communication from the school. I knew every week what was going on within each classroom. In the elementary school the students can participate in a wonderful arts program. The music teacher and art teacher are amazing!! If you want a school where your child will be nurtured (not just pushed to score high on testing) this is the school for you!
I ran into this site by accident and had to respond. I saw the last couple of reviews and was shocked. My children have been at Berean for the past 4 years. Preschool included. This reviews must have been written by very upset parents. Students are never left alone and they are caring and supportive. The director of the preschool is a Pastors wife and a lovely women. One review said "pushing their religion" . LOL Berean is a Christian School. Hello??? Christ based!! Sorry but some people want the care and love of a Christian school as long as they don't talk about Jesus! Go to Berean You will not regret it!!!!
Stay away.. very closed minded school... very bad experience here.... always feel like an outsider when I go there. wrote the administation and many others from the church about how they make others feel unwelcomed unless you are in their click... no responses... ask to meet with them.. no responses... left messages... no responses.... If you question any thing they do you will be marked and treated badly without warrant.....
BCS is one of the best private schools in Palm Beach County!! My children began attending Berean in 2002 and my last child just graduated in May, 2011. The experience has been wonderful! My children thrived as they were taught by loving, caring, and attentive teachers. There is a warm family atmosphere that exists at BCS from the Lead Administrator on down. The level of education has been excellent. My children are excelling in college and actually find some of their college classes to be less challenging than some classes they took at BCS. I highly recommend this school!!
This school is the worst private school in Palm Beach County. I had a preschooler that was here I pulled my child from this school as quick as possible. The head master is not approachable or friendly when I needed to talk to him about a preschool teacher. The teacher and the assistant teachers were not doing there job and watching the children. There were children unattended when I went in the classroom. They had slipped out of sight. Horrible staff. Plus doesn't help that they are constantly trying to push their religion on you. Was super appalled by the lack of professionalism. If you love your children do not risk their safety.
Berean is a Christ lead school, starting with the headmaster at the top, and it is filtered down to all teachers and staff! You could not ask for a more nurturing/caring and safe setting for your children. I have two very different children, and they both thrive at Berean. The academic program is good and constantly being looked at, not because of major problems, but for pro-active ways to make it even better for our children. They can meet the needs of the more advanced student as well as the needs of the "regular" paced student. I can assure you this is a fact. Regardless of where your student is at academically or socially, the teachers and staff are here for YOUR children in more ways that I could ever comment. You are not just a parent/student here, but part of a family. The character of our children is held in high standards at BCS. Frankly, with the world as it is today, we welcome the character building (and expectations) that BCS provides for our children. They not only welcome parent involvment, but parent input as well. The teachers and administration are truly here for you and your family. Berean is one of those "best kept secrets".
I love working at Berean Christian School. We pray for each other and our families. We really care about the kids at Berean and are encouraged to show it. Our best advertising is word of mouth. That's because we have great families that share their experiences at Berean with their friends, family and neighbors. Teachers go through constant training to keep up with the newest educational tools and techniques. We keep our parents current with RenWeb School Management System. Grade books, announcements documents and even accounting are live for all parents to see. Most importantly we are Christ followers. We love praising and worshiping Him every day. We chose BCS to avoid the public school system. Just to look at the overall performance for SATs and College acceptance you may see that they are currently not doing much better than the public system; However, we are convinced we made the right choice. I have 2 kids at Berean, and they began at the pre-school level, they are now in K5 and 2nd grade. My kids WILL NOT use words like hate, shut-up or looser, such words are NOT allowed. Please go to the sporting events, it mortifies me that other schools would cheer or jeer with profanity, you will not hear that from BCS attendees. Compared to family and friends, my children are reading at a better level, they have a well rounded vocabulary. I've also heard of problems with teachers in particular, not the school in general, those who have had problems have a great principal that will listen and act on your concerns. We hope to be able to continue affording this school until our kids reach the 12th grade. To know that our children are in a safe and instructive environment is well worth the cost of tuition. They are very strict with discipline, and that was the main issue why we chose this school, we saw it as a plus.
My son attended Berean Christian School for 12 years. Our experience there was one of warmth, acceptance and A GREAT FEELING OF FAMILY. From day one I felt my son was safe and never worried about his care. The teachers truly care about your kids. The school's first emphasis is on your childs relationship with our awesome God. The second is academic. My son left the school well rounded not only academically but with a sense of self worth and a knowledge that he has a GOD given pupose for his life. He applied to 6 colleges in and out of state and has been accepted by all 6. I still to this day know how blessed my son was to attend this great school.
I discovered BCS in 1998 and we are still actively involved. All five of my children have attended. (can you imagine how much tuition I've paid!) That alone should tell you something. Three of my kids have graduated now, and I hope I can afford to get the last two thru to graduation. I recommend you attend a school function like a basketball game, or graduation, or a night when the elementary is doing a music program. This will give you a good glimpse of the school in action with parents there as well. I served as class mom for many years and helped when I could at different functions. This gives a great opportunity to get to know the people. The school is excellent in all respects. The leadership is fair and balanced and they dont treat one person better than another for any reason. Even if you're a favorite volunteer or donate the most cash, your child will still be expected to follow the rules and have respect for the school and carry the school name with pride. This is to the health of the body. It's a fun place to be and your kids will love it. Get involved to get the most out of it!
I have attened Berean eversince i was in the K5, and now im only a few weeks into my senior year. I will tell the truth, I've had some ups and downs. I love it there and honestly don't know another school in our area that could keep up with the acedemics provided. Over the past 12 years Berean has gone through many changes for the better. Every school has their problems but they have good intentions, great motives, and a booming sports program.
I came BCS thinking my child would receive an excellent education and all that comes with a child being enrolled in a private christian-based school-not! I am so disappointed in BCS. After comparing notes of other public schools with BCS, I have come to conclusion that I am paying private school price for a pulic school education. I will say one thing, my child has learned more about the bible. I feel that some of the teachers treat some parents and.or kids like they do not belong at BCS. How could that be? This is not a free education; it is been paid for but yet you are treated like it is free. Some teachers are not courteous to you and also some of the parents but yet this is a christian based school. The teachers say negative things about the kids very openly, too many issues.
The school does have cliques and alot of rules but if you just listen to the teachers you will do fine here. Its fun especially retreat for middle/high school. The teachers really care about you not just school wise but you can go to them with any type of problem. There has been alot of changes in the last year or two but most of them are for the better.
Fortunately, administration from elementary to secondary to headmaster has all changed for the 2007-2008 school year. A more intensive passion for excellence has been urged among the teachers and students at BCS. Many favorable changes have occurred in the past few months. I'm excited to see how the school is improving and keeping their focus on spiritual and academic growth.
