Cypress Bay high is a great school. It has great facilities and a variety of classes to choose from. Also there are regular, honor and advance placement classes that encourage the teenagers to succed.
This school is TOPS! I grew up in Miramar and Pembroke Pines. I see how the quality of our education system has improved tremendously. I am proud to say my children attend 'southern' state schools. Not too many years ago 'northern' state schools felt superior to us. Florida can be proud of the stricker rules and guidelines it has formed. Our leaders are to be commended for their dedication and efforts to help our children LEARN more. However, the work is still in progress. As parents we should always keep a close eye on the needs of our children. Cypress Bay needs MORE buildings to house classrooms. Our teachers and children deserve classrooms located in concrete structures, not portables. The ninth grade annex is a terrible answer. They ran out of food daily during lunch and the kids have to move from class to class in 90 degree heat and sun.
Excellent High School with 2 yrs A average- campus next to newest library in Broward county. Brand new ball fields, park, extremely affluent and safe neighborhood.
Great school. Great teachers, one of the best that my chuld has ever been to!
A pretty good school. It looks very cleaned and well maintaned. The academic standards also seem pretty good.
I have one child in 9th grade (the Annex) at Cypress Bay. She is very happy there and doesn't mind the portable site at all. She commutes to the main campus for 4th hour every day for band (no problems). The teachers are very good. Encourage your child to take honors classes if recommended by their teachers. A lot more work, but worth it if your child is college bound (increases the GPA). The GEM program gets very tough, they are moving at a very fast pace (Algebra 2 in 9th grade) You may want to consider backing out of this program if you child is having any problems at all with math in middle school (Geometry). Overall I'm happy with the school.
Great 'A' school. Teachers and staff are wonderful, and experts in their field. Only consern is the overcrowding.
Cypress Bay High School is an excellent school hosting a variety of academic and extracurricular activities to suit everyones needs. The principal of the school is an inspiration and leader that commands the respect and admiration of the administration, the student body and the parents. His energy is contagious... all assistant principals, counselors and the whole the administration at CBHS seem to share his passion for helping the kids to succeed. The faculty truly reflects the best of best and have a tremendous positive impact on the student body. Parents are also actively involved and assist the school meeting/exceeding expectations. Cypress Bay is truly one of the Best High Schools in South Florida... and this comes from a very tough critic.
This school is a great one, filled with many extracurricular activities for students to become involved in. At this school, Principal Neely provides excellent leadership and a desirable working ernviornment. While the campus is crowded, with over 3500 at the main campus and 1300 at the annex, it provides a unique learning experience. The school is expanding to provide greater resources, and our baseball team is #1 in the state. Parents are often invited to attend many meetings, including the PTA. Overall this school, the only public A school in Broward County, deserves its A.
I find Cypress Bay High School to be one of the best high schools in the Broward County area. They are at the cutting edge of education.
Cypress Bay High is a new school but is already overcrowded. Teachers are excellent and principal is very good but overcrowding poses too many issues. 9th graders are shipped to an annex many miles from the high school. You just lose the feeling of being part of the school.
