Mrs. Schafer is the gifted teacher at this school. To my knowkedge this program did not exist prior to this year. She is a wonderful teacher and really challenges the children. My child has never really liked school but she has him doing projects on the computer that he loves. He says he has decided to be an architect when he grows up. Where did this come from? He says he learned how to design houses and figure the supplies, materials needed etc. She has made math come to life for him. Overall, we love this school. But we especially love Mrs. Schafer for making our child want to learn and for challenging him.

My child was just recently tested for the 'Gifted' program, which we had never heard about before. He passed the test and his gifted teacher has been doing amazing things to keep him challenged. We had discussed withdrawing him and placing him in a different school, but not any more. Mrs. Shaeffer, the teacher, is so caring and my child has never been happier to go to school as long as he knows he will see her that day. He has learned a lot of new things in the short time he has been with her for enrichment in math. A huge thank you for making my child interested in school again.

This school has staff that truly care about the children and want to do whatever it takes to help them succeed. They have 4 National Board Certified Teachers and many going on to earn Ed. Leadership degrees. Their scores did very well compared to other high poverty schools in the county.
