Possibly the worst school ever. They need to be shut down. Horrible learning enviroment, teachers without degrees, principle that does not know how to run a scool.
The quality of an education is not based on the location or the look and style of a brick and mortar building but the proven academic track record and results. The Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) scores for Crenshaw students speak for themselves. It is used to measure academic knowledge and conducted methodically on an annual basis by The Crenshaw School to ensure that students are provided a quality education and are reaching their full academic potential. As the saying goes, "the proof is in the pudding." Simply inquire as to the school's overall standardized scores - that has the greatest standing and substance. The proof is our eldest daughter's SAT scores in applying to some of the top universities in the country. The Crenshaw School has exceeded our academic expectations. Simply look at some the universities that graduates from Crenshaw have or are attending. There is no other school that is up to the challenge for our family in our high expectations.
Crenshaw was a life saver for my 3rd grader. She struggled in a traditional classroom with too many kids. At Crenshaw she received so much one on one attention and truly thrived! I am very thankful that we decided to move her to private school! Thanks Crenshaw!
My child has had a great experience in middle school at this small school. Teachers and principal communicate well and resolve issues. My child has improved so much academically and become an independent learner.
This is a small wonderful school where everyone knows everyone. It is a wonderful environment for kids to feel safe, happy and do well in school.
Love this school. The teachers are wonderful. My kids are very happy and are doing great at this school.
My child was traumatized at this school. Don't let them take your money! lots of cruelty from the staff.
Great school. I have been going here since Kindergarten! The teachers care about each one of their students. The ratio of students to teachers is amazing!
As a current parent at Crenshaw. I cannot recommend this school. I'm transferring my kids. Not a good school.
I m currently a student at Crenshaw and there s a few things people need to know before enrolling at this school. Crenshaw is in a church facility with about 4 rooms and a chapel. I feel like I m inside a small box in here, it feels very claustrophobic. The chapel is big but it s filled with the church chairs attached to the floor so they teach us in barbeque tables and chairs. There are no real classrooms and everything is online and mobile. Everyone keeps bumping into each other all the time, this place is so small and I have to wait 20 minutes every day just to get my lunch because it s so crowded in here. Most of the teachers are parents volunteers. No sports, no extracurricular activities.
It doesn't support I transferred schools because they just sit back relax and let you struggle no one on one with the teacher
I have had 2 children attend Crenshaw School, one for 5 yrs and the other for 6 yrs. Both loved going there. Due to financial hardship my daughter entered Olympic High School as a freshman with 4 high school credits. Even though taking all honor courses including geometry and chemistry she rec'd straight A at Olympia in addition to starting on the JV volleyball team, the JV basketball and making the varsity water polo team. At this time as a sophomore she is ranked #1 in unweighted grades in her class of 856 students and 55 in weighted scores. I credit this to the background and learning skills she rec'd at Crenshaw. My son followed her path this year except he rec'd one B and that was in Fresh orientation, teacher did not like it because he did so well coming from a private school. He would spend most of the time helping other students that were having trouble with other classes so he would get low marks for attentiveness. I, as a parent and even though I hate to admit it, my children are not super brilliant. They are smart kids who have had an exceptional background in attending Crenshaw. I would also like to note that Orange Co had my son pegged for special ed.
It's an outstanding mix of demanding standards with flexible approach to meeting those standards. My 7th grader is taking 10th grade math - but the public schools would have her in 6th grade because of late-in-the-year birthday.
Crenshaw school is a customizable school - it is adaptable for your special, unique needs. Our oldest son finished out his sophomore year after a medical issue required him to return home from boarding school. Crenshaw worked with us and designed a program that allowed him to complete that year at his own pace with individual teacher/mentors in a homeschool/hybrid arrangement. After spending junior year at a local private school, he decided to return to Crenshaw and graduate with the friends he'd met there surrounded by the faculty and administration that were supportive and encouraging during his difficult time. This year he'll be graduating from University of Florida with a double major and plans to go on to graduate or law school. Thank you Brenda Crenshaw, staff and students for making a positive difference in his life and ours! We love this school and highly recommend it.
I've been at Crenshaw for 8 years, and as a student, I can proudly say that I love it. The environment is amazing. No bullies, no 'streetfights,' and I learn so much! At any other school, I would be a grade or two behind, but with Crenshaw, my needs have been tended to and I'm allowed to reach my full potential. Why? Because at Crenshaw, they let me float. And guess what? No silly cliques. Everyone at Crenshaw is friends with each other. I will always know Crenshaw as my second home. Even if my opinion as a student doesn't count, I recommend the school to anyone and everyone!
We love the school our kids are happy and the teachers are great. The school is like a family and makes sure all the kids are doing well. Our SAT scores are some of the best and our kids have the ability to float to higher grades if they are particulaly good at something. Its a great school and a great education and even better all the kids are happy.
I have two children attending Crenshaw. I have found the teachers excellent and feel that they have a sincere desire to make my children successful. My children would be heartbroken if they did not attend Crenshaw. There life would not be complete. I have never in the 3 years that they have attended Crenshaw ever say that they did not feel like going.
My children have been here for 4 years now and have done an outstanding job. The SATs only confirm that for me even more. The school encountered financial issues due to the economy but with the great support of the parents, it is turning around. All students take SATs every year and it validates their strong academics. Come see for yourself.
I was highly disappointed with Crenshaw and removed my children from this school. For two years, I was kidding myself that they were in good hands, being a private and independent school with a close-knit curriculum. To my horror, upon enlisting them with a private tutor, my children were two years behind the national academic average set by the state of Florida. This is a fluffy school where your child will not be enriched and I have since moved them to Lake Highland. The difference is phenomenol. I have had 2 years experience with is this school and it is nothing but sheer business.
I have three children enrolled at the Crenshaw School. Each year I think they can't possibly have a better teacher than they did this year and each year just gets better and better! My children love going to school and I think that's the best compliment of all. Great school and great staff!
