This past weekend a group of teachers, students and Lowe's employees spent their Saturday morning working on improving the outside of the school. It was a lot of hard work, but well worth it everything came out beautiful, the only thing that I can not believe is the fact that there was no administration at the school. Even if they would have only been there to say thanks to the kind employees of Lowe's for their time and hard work. I would have thought that would be something a caring administrator would have done.

The academic level of this school was medicore. The emphasis of the schoolwork seemed to be geared towards math, reading, and writing only because that's what the students were tested on several times a year. My daughter rarely was exposed to science or social studies material. There were no extracurricular activites, no field trips, and little parental involvment.

My daughter attends Garner and the other day I went with my sister-in-law to register my nephew. Where have so many teachers gone? I was surprised to see that the front desk secretary had left along with some of the teachers. I was really sad to see that and seeing how the grade dropped I have low hopes. I just hope that they get things together again. Why not just change the administration instead of the teachers?

My son just graduated from 5th grade and overall I am happy but this year was by far the worst ever. I don't know the new principal well, or have seen many changes - bu the assistant principal that came in the beginning of the year is the worst thing thtat could have happened to this school. She was not helpful, promised much and never carried through. They cannot retain their teachers and in the end our kids suffer, just look at the scores.

Garner is a wonderful school. The teachers are very outgoing when it comes to the students. Whatever step needed to help the students move ahead believe it will be done. The staff has always helped me help my children do there best no matter what steps may be needed . A great school with great staff is hard to find and in Garner Elem. I found both. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GARNER!
