I am a parent who had two daughters at All Saints' Academy and they did NOT receive a great education. They are now attending a charter school where they are learning more than they ever had at All Saints'. My oldest daughter left as a 4th grader but had a reading level of a 2nd grader, how can that happen at such a wonderful school?. It happened because all they want is your money. This is proven by the fact that she had a tutor for 3 years at extra cost to me and it still did not improve her reading level while at All Saints'. The school is run by the students because they know that the school will not disciple them because their parents are on the board or give lots of money to the school. The school does not want to upset the parents who give the most money. If you do not believe me, plan a surprise visit and you will see who runs the school. My advice is save your money and try a different school. Unless you have the money to guarantee your child will receive the attention he or she needs to get a good education.
I am a student in the 6th grade who attends All Saints Academy. This school is the best thing that ever happend to me. Dont hesitate about which school to choose, because All Saints is your best choice. Being a college prep school is a huge blessing. Because of this, we learn things before other schools. One thing that I love about this school is that it opens you up to new things and its programs are phenominal! Writing has always been my favorite thing to do. I write over the top and way beyond what is expected. I feel this way because ASA . Not only does it have great teachers, principle leadership, and parent involvment, but it has great students that love learning new things and meeting new people. Dont worry any longer about choosing the wrong school because if you choose ASA, you wont have to worry.
I have a son who graduated from ASA and a daughter who is a senior. They have both received a quality education and have greatly enjoyed their life at ASA. The leadership opportunities that are available to ASA students is incredible and the safe environment makes ASA the best school in Polk County. ASA also has a great athletic program (placed 2nd in the county for all sports ratings for small school - Lakeland Ledger. Keep up the good work ASA!
I am the parent of two students (one a recent graduate, the other a current senior) who attended this school since pre-k. My older child was fully prepared for success in college, and my younger child is poised for acceptance at several highly selective colleges. Academics, particularly the Lyceum Merit Studies program; athletics; and fine and performing arts; ASA has it all, and my children were eager participants. If you live in Polk County and have academically able children, ASA is clearly the best choice school.
I am a senior and I have attended ASA since Pre-K3. Overall, I've been very happy. I did go through the typical middle school phase of hating my school, but looking back now I realize it was more my raging hormones than negativity at the school. The academics are challenging (I take all AP or Lyceum Merit Studies classes) and I'm able to participate in one varsity-level sport as well as the dance team and several other clubs. As with any school, the experience is what you make it, and I've had a well-rounded education at ASA. In about 6 months, I hope to be attending one of two highly selective schools I applied to in the Northeast, and I feel that I owe that opportunity to the many teachers who have supported me throughout my many years at ASA.
I am a student here, and it is not a great school. Coming from a previous prep school, this doesn't even come close to being in line with the academics at any other school in the state. Most students always talk about how they dislike the school and can't wait to get out of it. The new Upper School Head and Headmaster know nothing about academics and are not competitive on any level. (Arts, Athletics especially, and academics) I personally cannot wait until my time here is over with. I do not recommend this school to any child or student who wants to be happy along with a good education.
The direction the school is taking under the interim head is exactly what an independent school family would hope for in a destination school with exceptional vision and offerings. The culture is a positive one, and the diverse student body enjoys both challenging academics and extracurriculars to meet every interest. The fine arts are top-notch, and the collegiality among staff is admirable. Access to administration is an additional positive, and partnerships with other institutions and the community add extra diminsions. The campus is beautiful, and the expansions, in this difficult economic climate, speak volumes about the sustainability of the school. ASA is the right place to be for 21st Century learning at its best.
My children have been at All Saints' for 6 years and we couldn't be happier with the education and environment. My oldest is in high school and has been able to excel in high school Lyceum classes since 7th grade because of the quality and rigor of the elementary program here. My other child is on the same track as his sister and both are constantly encouraged to excel at whatever they choose to do at the school. As a parent, I'm excited to see what leaps and bounds we'll be making with the NuVu (MIT) program coming to our school! Our new principal is making this happen!!My friends from other states who are paying triple what we pay at ASA are seething about all we have here at ASA! Come see the school for yourself and see what the excitement is about.
All Saints' Academy is one of the very best schools with which I have ever been involved. Its academic programs are founded on a good balance of innovation and tradition. The student body is inclusive, caring, driven, and enthusiastic. Support from the larger school community--parents, faculty, administration--is part of what makes the school one of the best in the southeast. Be wary of dated and jaded reviews: the school's leadership has been recalibrated in 2011. I cannot imagine anyone being excluded or favored more than another in this supportive environment. Every student is involved in some kind of co-curricular club or team. This school is a phenomenal place to work, learn, and grow. Stop by anytime for a visit.
This school is, by far, the best school in Polk County. The faculty is top-notch, and the tuition is PEANUTS to what you would be paying for a similar education in Tampa or Orlando. The previous Headmaster was less than professional at times, but thankfully he has been shown the door, and a wonderful new Head of the Upper School has been hired. I would urge any Polk County parents whom are looking for a better education than what the county has to offer, to schedule a visit to All Saints. We have had our daughter there for 7 years and have not been disappointed in the quality of the education she has received.
