Ms. June Our Principal, Grandmother, Mother, and Dearest Friend Even though I have only been here for 3 years I am very honored to be a part of Woodruff Academy. The very 1st thing that drew me to this school was a 4 year old that I was a nanny for started coming here. One of the greatest things I noticed about her, after she had attended a short time, were her beautiful prayers to our Heavenly Father. This was a direct influence of Ms. June. There are many scriptures that our Heavenly Father has brought to mind when putting together this letter about the beautiful Christian example of Ms. June. 2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Matthew 5:10-11 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Psalm 112:5 A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Philippians 2:3-4, John 13:35, John14:21, John15:19, 2 John 1:6, 1 Peter 2:21, 1Peter 2:20-24,

I have been associated with Woodruff Academy and Ms. June Sullivan, administrator, for more than 20 years. Each of my four children has attended and participated in the program. I have taught classes for the students and have enthusiastically volunteered my time and talents to assist in providing the very best educational environment for these students. They deserve it. I have watched June Sullivan focus on an unwavering vision that students grow and develop best within a Christian environment that unabashedly teaches the importance of love and respect and civility and honor in keeping commitments. I encourage you to give serious consideration to the quality programs, small classes, and Christian environment you will find at Woodruff Academy. It will be a financial sacrifice for many of you but if you would invest in anything of value, invest in your children. You will look back with gratitude that you had the courage and foresight to choose the road less traveled and it will have made all the difference. I know.

I am the mother of two boys in enrolled at Woodruff Academy. My family is not a part of the LDS church and we do not share the same beliefs as LDS; however, we do share many of the same family and Christian values that the school instills in the students. I feel that my children are learning the very core of Christianity and I have never encountered any issues with teachings that push strongly to any one specific denomination. The academic education is top notch. The class sizes are small so the children get individualized help in the areas where they need it most. The communication is very open as far as where my kids are excelling and where they can improve. The teachers have always been helpful with offering guidance on getting my children where they need to be academically. My children have made so much improvement on so many levels this year that I am absolutely amazed. I also love that parents are encouraged to be very involved in the schools activities and events. My husband and I are excited to see what next year brings. I really cannot imagine a better school for my children.

I enrolled my daughter in the homeschool program in 2003, first grade, she is now in the 9th grade and going strong. The directors of this school have always supported us and have given us the assistance that we needed to homeschool so that my daughter can pursue her career goals (sports related). We love this school and the directors and wouldn't dream of changing. Thank you Woodruff Academy for all that you have done for us.

My name is June Woodruff Sullivan. I founded Wilford Woodruff Academy in 1982 to teach our six daughters. A few years ago an enrolled family suggested we take off my great-grandfather's first name from the title because it made the Academy's title hard to remember and difficult to say. At Woodruff the songs we sing at our devotionals bear testimony of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. The messages the staff and students prepare in class are developed from the King James Version of the Bible. The messages bring honor to God and to His son, Jesus Christ. Woodruff Academy (WA) is a Christian school that teaches the Constitution of the United States. The standards and ideals set forth at WA are conservative. The policies and procedures are influenced by me as a founder (as it should be). Parents enrolling a child in any private school would expect the founder to have had the dominate influence. I am sorry the person commenting here was dissatisfied with WA for any reason. However, if parents enroll a child at WA and teach him/her to adhere to the Christian standards and teachings upheld at WA, the support for the Academy would serve to bless a Christian household, tenfold.

We made a mistake signing up here. We thought it was Church of Christ because its on that Church Property but its not, its Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (mormon) people running the school. They dont tell you that when you sign up, you just find out later when you see hints of references to that church all over the place in small print and on the website if you find the right pages hidden. The name Wilford isn't even the name anymore, just Woodruff academy so you cant look up who Wilford Woodruff is anymore, only if you knew. And all the mormon related stuff with devotional time and mormon songs, who would of known, not me. Next time you go sign up for a school make sure you know what religion it by asking!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
