We love this school! It is our final year at Rainbow, which makes me very sad! My kids, for the most part, have had fabulous teachers. The staff is helpful and encourage parent involvement. Rainbow is a friendly school.
This is a wonderful school, with fantastic teachers, staff and students. It's been 11 years in a row an A+ school !!!!
This school is the best because they are willing to over and beyond their teaching duties to help all children.
Ultimately your child's success depends upon parental involvement and teacher quality. This school has EXCEPTIONAL parental involvement (people move to this area specifically for this school). The teacher quality is good but various significantly between various grades. Improvements could be made in the healthy meals & physical activity. Comparatively speaking this is an excellent school.
Rainbow Elementary is an excellent public school. It is the only elementary school that has received an 'A' rating since the system began 7 years ago. The principal runs a tight ship but is total earns the respect of all parents and staff. When there is a staff opening at Rainbow they get a huge response from the most qualified teachers in the area. She beleives that all children have the right to the best education possible. Parent involvement is highly encouraged not just in your child's classroom but wherever your talents may best be used - media, super scientists, math, reading,.. My children are consistently happy and challenged at Rainbow Elementary.
My son is in an ESE class for 'emotionally handicapped' children the teachers and assistants are well trained and very helpful. The staff at Rainbow Elementary is very friendly.
Horrible! In class they eat unhealthy snacks instead of teaching them about healthy eating habits. The principle is not well liked and the teachers seem unhappy.
Rainbow consistently scores high in the FCAT tests, and has been an A school for at least 7 years. If you want your child to have the opportunity to excell academically, then this school is a good choice. Unlike some other Seminole county schools, Rainbow uses unit studies, which my children really enjoy. Unfortunately, last year's rezoning was detrimental. While the quality of the education is excellent, I feel that discipline is now lagging in areas. With the addition of many new teachers and students, there no longer seems to be a uniform plan in dealing with discipline issues. Parents are very involved in this school. Chorus is very good.
Class sizes are smaller than most. Teachers have a real concern for their students. Parent nite activities are always packed. PTA membership is almost always at 100%. Both of my children have received phenomonal teachers who genuinely care for their students. Not much in the form of extracurricular but they are working on it.
This is an excellent school.
