due to the limit size of the school and that they do not promote sports or extra activites. Our child has limited socail skills and is not comfortable now in large learning group. I am not happy with the school and would not recommend it for a growing child. Our child fears the public school system and feels as if she can not leave her bubble there or could pass the FCAT test in public school. This has not prepared her for college at all.
HDA is a growing school. We changed curriculm about 6 years ago and had a natural attrition. Currently the school has 65 students and growing! This is purpose driven education. Every subject has a biblical purpose for being taught. We have art, music and PE. We also have recess time. It is a wonderful environment for the students. My daughter is reading at a 5th grade level in the 1st grade. Thanks to the reading program! THis is a school worth looking into!
We were searching for a school who taught 'The Principle Approach' and finally found Hampden DuBose Academy. It is a wonderful school with caring teachers and administrators. We are grateful for the Biblical worldview and teaching!
No extracurricular activities. No sports. Academic program is good. Low class size. Very religious.
Hampden DuBose Academy did not prepare my children for college or life. My child was placed in classes with children at lower levels of learning which caused the teacher to spend more time with the other child than with my child that needed help on grade-level problems. I would not recommend Hampden DuBose Academy.
