Moving

I am a mother of an eleven year old. Finally able to move out of the city and apt and into a house in the country. Goal I have been working on. This means better area and School. My son has been excited but now tells me he will miss some of his friends and doesn't want to leave the school. I know it will be better in the long run but doesn't help both our hurt feelings. Any suggestions from anyone having gone through this?

Kids don't like change. He will miss his old friends. See if you can set him up this summer with an email account and a cell phone and make arrangements on the weekends to go back and hang out with his old friends.
You may have to do this more often in the beginning and less so as the semester wears on, but eventually he will have two sets of friends.
