I have one child who just completed Kindergarten there and one who went there for K and 1st and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE McCall! So we have been there for the past 3 years. Our first year was really just ok but 2nd year we got a new principal who is FANTASTIC and truly loves his school and the students that attend. The teachers are awesome and at the top of their game. Everyone there is so friendly and they know who I am AND who my children are. I love the fact that it is a small school and helps to transition into the "bigger" school. Most importantly back to the teachers. They all do a fantastic job and they really do take a personal interest in all of their students. I really can't say enough about McCall. I love it and am really sad that this up coming year will be our last year there.

The teachers are awesome & love what they do! Highly qualified & motivated to be the best at what they do! Wish my kids could have stayed in beyond 1st grade!

I have had three children in this school and it is fantastic! With only K and 1st grades in the schoo,l the culture is just what these kids need to get off to a good start. Class sizes are 15-17 students. All teachers have been wonderful and the new principal is doing a great job. I am glad I was able to send my kids here rather than to a huge elementary school. I don't know why the test scores were so low giving it a low rating on this site unless our local population of English-as-second-language students have skewed the results. My kids did well on the tests. Everyone around here loves this school!

My daughter attends kindergarten at McCall and I couldn't be more pleased with the school. There are 15 students in her class and I really do like the idea that only kindergarteners and 1st graders attend, instead of going from a PreK /daycare kind of environment to an all involved elementary school. The teachers are wonderful and encourage parent involvement. My daughter looks forward to going to school everyday.

McCall is a wonderful 'starter school' if you will. It is small & not overwhelming for the little ones. The teachers & staff truely care about the children and it has a wonderful atmosphere when you walk in! My oldest is in Kindergarten there and I love it. I'm glad my other 2 children will be starting school there too! S. Young

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Georgia administered the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) in reading, social studies, science, English language arts and math in grades 3 through 8. The CRCT is a standards-based assessment, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Georgia. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
