Our oldest son will complete 2nd grade at Frey this year. He's been attending for the last 3 years since he started in Kindergarten. The teachers are amazing at Frey. We love them! Our 2nd child is now attending Frey this year as well. Both of our boys are doing exceedingly well academically, thanks to some wonderful teachers. Both boys were also privileged to have the same Kindergarten teacher, which was so exciting for us because she's just an incredible teacher. The teachers communicate regularly with parents via heir teacher blogs, emails and physical papers that are sent home in their folders. I appreciate that the school also makes calls on a regular basis to our home number to inform us of upcoming events at the school. A recording is left on our voicemail, if we miss the call, so that we don't miss the pertinent information. Parents are always encouraged to be involved as much as they'd like as well. I think the parent/school partnership is highly encouraged at Frey. We're always aware of what's happening at the school and welcomed to participate with our kids. We've had a great experience with this school. Our boys love it!

I am very disappointed with this school, mainly the principal. She is unapproachable and is never open minded on what's best for children on an individual basis. Meeting with her gets you absolutely nowhere and she never admits when there's wrong-doing. Bullying is ignored and children with behavior problems are left in the classrooms causing kaos. The County should investigate the activities in this school. Parents complain frequently and are ignored!!!

We recently moved here from a school in PA with a much lower GreatSchools ranking, so we anticipated great things. While teachers and staff are friendly and my daughter is doing well academically in the fifth grade, there is poor communication from the classroom to home. In PA, I could access my daughters test grades and homework assessments directly online, so I always knew where she stood with all her classes. At this school, I get a folder once a week with her papers and tests, but no indication of how each is weighted into her grade or even which class the grade/homework was for. On a positive note, her 5th grade teacher is very responsive when I email her questions.

Overall I am disappointed with the school. My child has a teacher who does not communicate with me. They placed my child in a program without my permission and without notifying me. The principal lacks people skills and is not respectful to concerned parents. They will not take advice from parents on what has worked for their children in the past and refuse to work with parents. They consider it a 'one man' show where school is completely separate from home, and they prefer for parents not to get involved. I do not advise anyone to place their child here.

I have had two children progess throught Frey and am starting third this Fall. I would highly recommend this school to anyone. The staff is extremely dedicated and supportive. My children have made a diverse group of friends here and continue to achieve growth each year. The PTSA is very family oriented. The administration and office staff have always been supportive. I always feel welcome when I enter the door!

My son was at Ford during the 2006-2008 school years. Our area was redistricted last year and he just completed the 3rd grade at Frey. He had an excellent year there! I could not disagree more regarding the diversity at Frey. My son had a much more diverse environment at Frey than he did at Ford. Even the educators are diverse at Frey (unlike Ford). I find the staff to be much more in tune with the students and parents. I would recommend this school to anyone inthe area.

My family loves this school. I do not agree that it does not diverse or that it does not encourage diversity. My child has friends of all different backgrounds and beliefs and thrives in this environment. The teachers are well liked and the staff seems very supportive.

Frey Elementary is not conducive to a diverse population. The leadership is weak. It allows parents to possess entirely too much control in the entire climate and decision-making within the learning environment. My experience with Frey was extremely negative. I would not recommend this travesty of an educational institution to anyone. It is a very socially secluded culture. This school does not benefit children in preparing them to function (with diverse populations) in the 'real world.'
